A Japanese wakasaki with polished steel blade and carved ivory handle and scabbard, relief decorated with figures in a domestic setting, together with an ethnic carved wood ornamental spear CONDITION REPORTS The handle and scabbard are extensively carved with aged staining throughout, scabbard is in two sections normally held together by a small pin which is now lacking, the lower lower part of the upper section has a triangular chip and a 1" section lacking (see photos), base to the lower section of the scabbard is signed (see photos), handle has an area of 1.5" missing to the skirted base to the handle, white metal mount to the handle is dented but intact, the polished blade has grey and blackened staining to both sides (see photos). Carved wooden spear is dirty to the incised area to the handle, the underside with white speckled markings, but spear intact.
