A Chinese export lacquer sewing box 19th Century Of canted rectangular form with hinged ogee cover, twin bale handles and raised on claw feet, decorated in gilt with panels of figures in pavilions within flower and leaf borders, opening to a typical fitted interior with lift-out tray and various accoutrements, above a pull-out fitted drawer, 36cm wide x 16cm high x 26cm deep.Condition report: Exterior gilt decoration rubbed to top and on corners. Some chips and very small flakes to lacquer. One foot reglued. Interior fair with some signs of age and use. Some losses to interior bone/ivory elements. Lower drawer centre cover hinges at fault.
