A Royal Worcester porcelain two handled ivory ground vase and cover, circa 1884, the lobed pear shaped body richly gilt and bronzed in low relief with branches of blackberries flanked by gilt handles, the cover with pointed gilt finial, green printed mark to base with incised numerals `769`, height approx 40cm (minor wear to gilding).
A good collection of 19th Century and later needlework tools and implements, including circular ivory mounted pin cushions, a plated elephant pin cushion, a Cantonese ivory needle case, carved with figures and foliage (faults), a prisoner of war needlecase, various thimbles, scissors, a tape measure and a set of Kirkby Beard & Co sewing needles, all within a glazed case.
LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY IVORY AND SILVER PLATED MANTEL CLOCK, the silver plated brass marine bulk head clock with single train movement and face with Roman numerals and seconds dial behind bevelled glass face, now supported on two foliate carved elephant tusks with silver plated mounts, on a "D" ended ebonized wooden plinth with bun feet. 22" High x 19.5" Wide. (Probably originally a hall gong converted to support the associated clock).
A CONTINENTAL WHITE METAL ROCOCO STYLE OVAL PEDESTAL DISH, with pierced repousse "C" scroll decoration on an oval shaped base. Impressed unidentified mark. Probably silver. 24oz approx. 12.5" x 9" x 6" High. Together with an Austro Hungarian fluted conical goblet on circular base, 800 purity. 10oz approx. 9" High, together with three Austro Hungarian pedestal cream jugs, all with foliate engraved or engine turned decoration, two with ivory handles. One pre 1866 mark. All 800 purity. 22oz approx. (5).
A Victorian rosewood and mother of pearl inlaid rectangular workbox, marked J T Needs, 100 New Bond Street, S1 with Bramah lock, the silk lined blue lift out tray complete with six ivory and mother of pearl bobbin spools, mother of pearl knife and pick with carved handle, the hinged lid enclosing stationery drop letter rack, the central rectangular inlaid panel with mother of pearl carved crowned portrait. This workbox comes with a quantity of paperwork listing its ownership through the family from the original owner, Mary Ann Todd, 1820-1900, where it was passed down to her granddaughter Grace Morice, 1880-1961, who in turn left it to her daughter, Dorothy Crawford, 1918-1998, who in turn left it to her daughter, (the vendor)
