A FINE QUALITY JAPANESE MEIJI PERIOD GOLD LACQUER AND IVORY ONLAID CHARGER, the ivory onlay depicting a fisherman and a turtle; possibly the immortal fisherman Urashima Taro, seated in front of a gourd shape flask and a mother of pearl box, with signed ivory tablet beneath the figure and signed to the base, 48cm diameter.
A Georgian midshipman's dirk, the double-edged 10'' etched blade, turned ivory grip, lion's head pommel in brass-mounted leather sheath, with fabric belt with lion's head mounts, 36.5cm overall, together with a portrait miniature watercolour of a naval officer, inscribed "Lieut. *****RE-OFFER £175 - £200******* A stylised peal and gemstone necklace featuring a heart shaped amethyst, set onto a carved quartz centre panel, which is in turn set onto and 18ct gold, which also features sixteen round brilliant cut diamonds (0.32ct estimated diamond weight). This decorative centrepiece is surrounded by a graduated strand of 68 ivory cultured pearls with a pinkish orient. The strand is connected by a 9ct gold clasp. Gross approx weight 23.58 grammes. With a SafeGuard Valuation dated May 2012 for the item for £2,165.
A 19th Century George III tortoiseshell veneered trinket box having a mahogany panel top with stencilled horse decoration. Brass escutcheon to the front with the hinged lid opening to reveal a red velvet lined interior with ivory borders. All raised on ivory bun feet supports. Wear commensurate with age, some lose to the feet. Measures approx; 6cm x 17cm x 13cm.
