Both kings and white Queen lacking tiny button on top of the lobed bead which surmounts the crown. Head of one of the black knights detached. Both black rooks with some damage to the crenellations on top. The other pieces in good condition and all original, long in the present family's private ownership

The ivory in generally good condition although lifting in places where warped. One part of the ivory on the lid with pale mushroom coloured discolouration. The silver mounts all present and original.
