Beneath, the Sphinx over Egypt is depicted, the same inscriptions appear on the reverse of the blade along with the retailers mark 'Andrews No.9 Pall Mall'. The cast gold tone hilt is ornately detailed with the sphinx over Egypt in central circlet. The grip is fashioned in ivory, the guard is inscribed to the underside with retailers mark 'Andrews Pall Mall'. The sword is complete with original steel scabbard, highly ornamented with gilded scroll detail mounts and both hanging rings present. The sword shows minor signs of wear to the ivory grip, with one small chip close to the guard and small crack to reverse (approx 1cm) there are three very small nicks to blade edge.
