An oak cased games compendium housing a white and stained ivory chess set, height of king 5.5cm (some pieces af), draughts, dominoes, chequers/counters, dice, two Bezique counters and two American whist counters (both af), with two embossed leather backgammon/chess boards, the case 29 x 46.5cm.Additional InformationThere are chips and losses to some of the pieces, one of the kings has lost the finial, one of the stained rooks with a noticeable chip. Further chips and nibbles throughout, both sets of American whist counters and one of the Bezique counters damaged. Some of the counters broken. Further general wear throughout, both backgammon/chess boards also heavily worn.
ROYAL WORCESTER; a blush ivory ewer painted with roses by J. Austin, signed, circa 1908, shape number H274 (restored), height 23cm.Additional InformationThe ewer is restored throughout the spout and the lower part of the handle, there is also restoration to the body, though it is not clear how extensive this is.
ROYAL WORCESTER; a blush ivory potpourri vase and cover, painted throughout with roses in the manner of Austin, with a pierced cover, circa 1911, shaped number H169, height 15cm.Additional InformationThe top of the finial is a darker colour gilt to the rest of the finial, some rubbing to the gilding on the lid, there is a small firing flaw to where the moulded detailing ends to the lid, there is a faint hairline crack to the inside of the lid and a firing flaw on the inside flange of the lid, the vase is lightly grubby throughout with a few minor little scratches.
ROYAL WORCESTER; four pieces of blush ivory comprising a miniature three handled tyg painted with flowers, date code for circa 1918, height 6cm, a globular vase also painted with flowers with date code for circa 1907, height 6cm, and a moulded cup and saucer decorated with roses, the cup circa 1903, the saucer circa 1901, and a moulded potpourri vase and cover painted and gilt with flowers, date code for circa 1918, shape number H169, height 19cm (5).Additional InformationThe tig with light rubbing to the gilding on raised areas and a couple of slight surface marks. may benefit from a clean, the globular vase also with some light rubbing to the gilding, the saucer too with some light rubbing to the gilding, the cup with a hairline crack at the rim, hairline crack to the underside of the lid and also to the flange of the lid which also has a slight nick at this point, some rubbing to the gilding here and there throughout and also slightly grubby throughout.
ROYAL WORCESTER; four blush ivory dishes comprising two similar shaped circular plates painted with three floral sprays each diameter 21.5cm, one with date code 1905, the other 1904, a fluted edged plate similarly printed and painted with date code for 1901, diameter 22.5cm, and a shaped oval plate, date code for circa 1900, length 27cm (4).Additional InformationOne of the shaped circular plates has six areas to the raised moulding where the blush has rubbed down to the white or the ceramic, other slight marks and glaze scratches to the surface, the other shaped circular plate is better with just a few light surface scratches to the glaze or enamels, the fluted circular plate with some scratches visible within the blush, the oval plate also with a few light glaze scratches, all pieces with some minor rubbing to the gilding.
A selection of 19th century and later ceramics and glass to include three 19th century blue and white dessert bowls decorated with a scene of a maiden at a water well, diameter 25cm, a Bargeware documentary teapot and cover with two plaques named for Mrs W. Slater and dated 1876, height 18cm, a Royal Doulton 'Samarra' pattern part dinner service, a Beswick model of a King Charles Spaniel and a Royal Worcester blush ivory vase printed and painted with flowers.
ROYAL WORCESTER; two blush ivory figures emblematic of countries, modelled by James Hadley comprising 'The Yankee' shape number 836, height 17.5cm, and Ireland or 'The Irishman' shape number 835, height 17.5cm (2)Additional InformationThe figure of The Yankee has a hairline crack running front to back of the base, the neck may have been restored but if it has it has been done very well, some light rubbing to the gilding here and there throughout, the figure of the Irishman with some slight grazes to the brim of the hat, light rubbing to the gilding and minor wear to the enamels, both figures are lightly grubby throughout.
A late 19th century Japanese carved ivory okimono of boy on a shaped oval base, height 19.5cm (af). Additional InformationThere should have been a larger section on top of the figures head and also to the top of the stick which he is holding and this is lacking, back of the figured is yellowed, several light cracks throughout.
AUG LUNEBURG OF KIEL; a 19th century Royal Naval officer's dress sabre, the pipe back blade with part damascened finish and signed to back base with twin squirrel stamped mark, blade length 78cm, the partly hinged brass guard bearing fouled anchor against acorn and leaf ground and inscribed underneath 'Pohland' (possibly), to wirework ivory hilt and brass back strap terminating in lion head pommel bearing two associated red coloured glass eyes, in associated two-ring metal scabbard.Provenance: The Captain Allan Marshall Collection.Additional InformationSome rubbing and marks to the blade, natural hairlines to the ivory, some further small chips and knocks. Tarnish and discolouration, as well as general wear, dust and dirt - especially to the hilt section. Scabbard heavily worn and should be considered af, has numerous holes, rust, corrosion and knocks. Scabbard is not original to the sword.

Chip and loss to ivory hilt, one upper corner, some further hairline cracks throughout. Some knocks and dents, as well as pitting to the scabbard.
