A Victorian ivory and white metal mounted walking stick, last quarter 19th century, with foliate cast grip and tapering ferule, 92cm high, with later walnut case. Provenance: The lot includes a typed note on the headed paper of Messers Hartley & Co. Ltd of Liverpool, Auctioneers, Valuers and Estate Agents, upon which it is stated that the walking stick originally belonged to the Sultan of Zanzibar who gifted it to his Collector of Customs, a 'native gentleman of Bombay', who in turn gifted it to Mr D.
