A sedan clock, early 19th Century, having an enamel dial with Arabic numerals within a turned lignum mount with brass back plate and suspension loop (movement missing), an ivory label to the interior inscribed "Cousens 61 George Street, Portland Square, London, W", the dial 10 cm CONDITION REPORT: The clock glass is in good order with only very minor blemishes. The brass bezel and hinge are in good condition. There is no movement at the hinge and the case snaps shut as it should. The face is in fairly good condition but does have some minor damage. There is a surface stress fracture just to the right and below the numeral 12. There are further stress fractures between 5 & 6 and to the left of number 9 running up to the underside of number 10. There is a further stress fracture between the digits on 11. The mahogany case is in generally good condition. There is a stress fracture to the left hand side of the hinge but no movement here. The backplate is in good order. Clearly the main issue is the lack of a movement and the later quartz replacement. The pointers are clearly later. The quartz movement is not working.
