Jacques Staunton of London 1851-2 ivory chess set. One side natural, the other red. White king stamped 'JAQUES LONDON', king's side knights and rooks stamped with a crown. 32 pieces. Pieces contained in an continental carved wooden box with maroon fabric lining. Height of King = 7cm/2.8in. Height of pawns = 3.5cm/1.38in. Condition report: The set is in good condition, all 32 pieces are present. However there is a chip to the neck of one of the pawns and a chip to the base of one of the knights. The box is not original.

English School, early 19th century, Portrait miniature of a gentleman, oval, watercolour on ivory, 6.5cm.; 2.5in high, set in a gilt-metal frame the reverse glazed to reveal a spray of hair. Condition Report: The miniature is in fair, original condition. There is some disruption to the paint surface resulting in loss of pigment and various surface marks.
