A Chinese silk embroidered panel of rectangular form, decorated on an ivory colour silk ground with a central rectangular panel depicting a pair of squirrels, flowering blossoms and a pair of exotic birds in flight within a border of flowering foliage, parrots, pheasants and other birds, late 19th/early 20th century, 30cm by 24.5cm
A part set of 28 ivory and stained ivory checkers pieces, together with 14 boxwood and 15 ebony pieces, various other backgammon and checkers pieces, two boxwood, two ivory, one stained ivory and one ebony dice shakers, various bone dice and folding checkers/backgammon board modeled as a leather-bound book.
*Irish Home Rule. The Home Rule Procession Broken Up, 1893, folding paper fan, the leaf chromolithographed by William Mecham ("Tom Merry") depicting a brawl in a crowded street, a cat with 'Home Rule' label attached and turnip flying through the air towards the occupants of a two-horse open carriage, and banner on left 'Let Tories Quake', trimmed to fan shape and embellished with hand-painted gilt border, a trifle rubbed in places, mounted on hand-painted ivory-backed mother-of-pearl sticks, 35cm (13.75ins), contained in gilt-decorated cardboard fan box, rubbed and a little worn Rare chromolithograph: the only copy we have traced is that held in the British Museum. We have found no other example in the form of a fan. (1)

A New and Correct Plan of London, including all ye New Buildings &c., n.p., circa 1760, folding paper fan, the hand-coloured leaf engraved by Richard Bennett with a plan of London, and insets showing the Rates of Hackney Coaches, toned and with splits to a number of folds (old paper and vellum repairs on verso and evidence of earlier stitching), mounted on wooden sticks, with ivory guard sticks carved with chinoiserie decoration (lower guard stick with old 2" repair just above pivot), 30cm (12ins) Rare. Not in the Schreiber Collection. (1)

View with country seat and figures, circa 1740, folding paper fan, the hand-coloured etched leaf with two ladies seated on a garden seat conversing, and a gentleman with a basket of flowers beside, against a classical mansion with cupola, toned, some repaired splits to folds, mounted on ivory sticks, with tortoiseshell guard sticks, 26cm (10.25ins) (1)

Admiral Rodney, n.p., circa 1792, folding paper fan, the leaf with a mezzotint in brown showing a full-length portrait of Rodney standing on the French and Spanish flags, between allegorical figures of Neptune and Britannia, beneath a cupid holding a wreath and supporting a scroll lettered 'Rodney', gilt edge and border of floral sprays, some toning and short edge splits, mounted on pierced ivory sticks, guard sticks carved with flowers and leaves, 23.5cm (9.25ins) Scarce. Bonnie Prince Charlie, circa 1745, folding paper fan, the leaf a hand-coloured etching by Robert Strange of Bonnie Prince Charlie in armour, attended by Cameron of Lochiel as Mars and Flora Macdonald as Bellona, Fame holding a laurel wreath above him, with flaming hearts on an altar behind, and a lion striking down a doe, flanked on the left by Venus and Cupid and Britannia, and on the right by Jupiter striking down Envy and Discord and the family of Hanover retreating, some tears with slight loss, mounted on pierced ivory sticks, guard sticks carved with floral motifs, lower guard with horizontal split (old repair on fan leaf), 29cm (11.5ins) Schreiber Collection 3, p.2. Engraved to celebrate the Jacobite Rebellion of 1745. (1)
