An Indian camphor wood serpentine edged box, the hinged cover with ebony and ivory inlay and various exotic woods, a pull out tray with inlaid compartments and another tray with inlaid wood compartments, width 40cm. Condition Report: The lid has a split along the grain which is also viewable on the inside of the lid. Some other splitting to the edge of the lid and opening split to the veneer to the right hand side. The remainder is in reasonable condition. No key. Minor loss to inlay to the inside of the lid. Top tray some lids have splits to the ivory.
A Thomas Staight sundial compass, the white 3cm dial signed T. Staight, London beneath the glass dome within an ornamental ivory collar and disc, this mounted with a curved mercury thermometer with Fahrenheit and Reaumur scales, the whole in a red morocco covered case, overall diameter 9.5cm. Note: An identical instrument is in the Gadd Collection, The National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, ref. D8654.
A Royal Worcester, blush ivory, lobed, ovoid vase No.1314 (lacks cover), a Gien, faience, cylindrical, tapered vase, painted with birds amongst grass, raised on triple, ball feet and a small, 19th century, porcelain tea cup and saucer. Condition Report: Worcester vase is in good condition (lacks lid); The gien vase has chips to the rim; the cup has a chip to its foot, the saucer also chipped underneath, gilt rubbed.
