A Bavarian ivory group of three itinerant musicians, 1930s, with two dancing figures, a dog and hat at their feet, on a turned wooden base, with ivory ball feet, 15cm high, 19cm wide. Provenance: Alex Moore; by family descent. Alex Moore, MBE (1901-1991) was a pioneer of modern ballroom dancing, a dancer, teacher and author on his subject. He received the Carl Alan Award and on his extensive international travels collected mementoes including this ivory group whilst visiting Germany in the 1930s.
An early 19th century portrait miniature, painted on ivory of a young woman, with long ringlets and wearing a white dress with a blue sash. Framed in an oval miniature frame, within a larger ebonised frame, which is cut away on the reverse to reveal the following inscription; "The portrait of Mary Anne Bonner who died at Sea off Cape Verd August 26th 1821. To Augustus Cotgrave Bonner from his niece Mary Anne Manson September 10th 1852".

A large mid 17th century embroidered panel, very finely worked to an ivory silk satin ground with a centrally placed fine lady and a gentleman dressed in warriors garb. The gentleman followed by his manservant leading a horse. The lady followed by a lady bearing a basket of fruit and a manservant. To the background of the piece is a grand building with canopied tents to the left and a lesser building to the right. To the foreground are bread, a drinking vessel, and a basket of eggs, a reclining lion, and leopard, a parrot, butterflies, caterpillar, snail, floral sprays and a rock pool with swan, dog, rocks and coral. Further spot motifs include a bird in a pear tree, a squirrel in a hazelnut tree, a rabbit, a reclining stag, a kingfisher, a donkey and a vine. Worked in satin stitch, French knots, long and short stitch, couching, cut work and long arm montenegrin stitch. Needlelace application and mica to windows. The background having been darned. Mounted, glazed and framed. 52 x 41cm

Pair of Royal Worcester standing soldiers, "Handy Man" shape 2110 and "Guardsman" shape 2111 from the "Boer War" series. Standing on matching rockwork bases and decorated with shades of blush ivory and Khaki with gilt outlining. 8 in, with matching impressed and printed marks, both date coded for 1899. Note: These models were released for production by the Royal Worcester factory in 1900. See Henry Sandon, Royal Worcester Porcelain from 1862 to the Present Day, page 219. This particular pair were produced in November 1899 and are marked accordingly and represent some of the first samples made; they perfectly match the preceding lot.
