Wood and ivory okimono Japanese, late Meiji carved as a Mongolian traveller astride a camel, the figure seated between humps and wears a jacket and bloomer style trousers, the head with a turban headdress, hands are holding a staff, feet with laced boots, water bottle and two packages attached to front and back of jacket, all in well detailed ivory, on wood stand 24cm x 21cm
λ A Persian sword (shamshir), curved blade of watered steel 34 in., shallow fuller bordered by a narrower groove, with a lion in sunken relief to a roundel, the famous maker's name 'Assad Allah' to a cartouche; iron crosspiece with small langettes and long quillons, Arabic text to the ecousson, later ivory grips set with white metal rosettes (some deficient), possibly a European addition.
λ A small collection of North African and Mediterranean knives, comprising: a Greek or Corsican example with clip point blade 4.5 in, ivory grip, hide covered scabbard; three African knives with broad iron blades and brass hilts, two having scabbards; and a double edged African knife, the hilt formed of alternating bands of horn, brass and ivory, in associated hide scabbard. A 19th century dessert service, comprising eight shaped circular plates, three graduated comports and shaped oval dish, printed with ripe fruit on an ivory ground, with cobalt blue rims with gilt foliage, comport 27cm wide, c.1900 (12) Condition Report: The taller comport restored, a smaller one with a reattached pedestal, the shaped oval dish restored. Each plate with surface wear consistent with use. Rubbed gilding, etc. Occasional minor crazing. Please see attached images.

From 1927 until her death in 1979 she lived at Tyntesfield in Somerset. It could be one of her close relatives.
