Two pairs of Legros d`Anisy Paris porcelain plates decorated with classical female portraits, cherubs and other figures, the rims with a band of vines, fruits, gryphons and classical motifs, printed marks, early 19th century, 23 -24 cm [a/f]. *Notes. The transfer printing works owned by Stone, Coquerel and Legros d`Anisy occupy a special place in the history of Continental ceramics in the early 19th century when they took out a patent in 1808/9 for a new process for transfer printing varied designs and engravings onto ceramics, ivory, gold, silver and other materials.
