An early 20c Royal Worcester blush ivory floral decorated coffee service, comprising four cups and saucers, saucers 4.75w, cups, 2h, sugar bowl, 4w, cream jug, 2.75h, coffee pot, 5.5h, together with a tray, 14.25w, each piece scalloped edged with gilt banding, each piece stamped to base some with slightly differing date codes.
A 19th Century Cantonese Ivory Fan, twenty eight sticks including guards, depicting scenes from Cantonese life, guard sticks of delicate foliate decoration, contained within the original box with inscription 'Small token of Remembrance from Canton in China, Wish Captain Fayermans 'Best Regards', monogrammed FI. Captain Fayerman was appointed captain of the Athenian on the 10th March 1804. He is believed to have travelled in convoy to China.
Marcelle Mire (late 19th/early 20th century), bronze and ivory figure of a lady with parasol, raised on a marble plinth, signed and numbered 5095. Height 24 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Other than being dusty and dirty this lot is in generally very good condition. There are no issues with the metalwork and only very minor scratches to the paintwork but nothing significant. The face is dirty in the reveals. There is a tiny stress fracture just above the left eye and another one on the right cheek. The marble base is nibbled a little around the sharp edges. There are no significant chips however.
Renee-Paul Marquet (1875-1939), a bronze and ivory figure of a Dutch girl with long pigtails and wearing clogs, raised on a marble plinth, signed "Marquet" and stamped 7743. Height 26 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The figure is in generally good order. There are no hairline cracks to the face. The metalwork is generally in good order. The only minor defect is to the rear two fingers of the left hand. These are partially missing where they grasp the branch. There are minor nibbles to the sharp edges of the marble base but no significant issues.
