The front-right leg with small repair. There are some general scuffs, mainly around the legs. The back-left corner of the lid has a section of veneer missing. The ivory fitments have some staining and are slightly yellowed. One of the bottles has some minor chipping/fritting.

A George III Silver Teapot and Stand, Maker's Mark SW, London, 1774, the teapot with fluted sides and a central band, with openwork ivory-insulated handle, the hinged cover with figural finial, the stand conforming and on three ball and claw feet, the teapot 20.5cm wide over handle, the stand 17.5cm diameter, total gross weight 24oz 4dwt, 753gr (2) Condition report: Fully marked under stand and under teapot. The teapot further part marked on cover bezel. There is some wear to the marks, though each is still legible. There are some overall surface scratches and wear, consistent with age and use. The wear is noticeable as a softening to the high points. There is some cracking and discolouration to the ivory insulators and the handle pins are possibly replaced with two protruding slightly from the handle.

Nellie was a celebrated collector and philanthropist who was responsible for saving the Octagon Room at Orleans House in Twickenham and for making donations from her art collection to her local council. During her life she amassed a significant collection including not only the present enamel but also a further group which were sold Sotheby’s, London, 17 June 1980.Condition report: Case with some typical minor damage and losses. There are some bruises to the surface, particularly on the teapot. The copper is showing through in some places. The handle on the teapot and coffee-pot are slightly differing. There is some staining and discolouration to the ivory insulators.
