Large SHIBAYAMA Japanese decorated tusk, profusely inlaid with many pieces of mother of pearl and other decorative materials. Complete with large highly ornate carved wood base, and carved ivory lid. Early 20th century. We estimate that there are about 25 pieces of inlay missing, albeit that some of these are quite small. A very impressive and substantial piece, which stands 57cm high.
