* Historical. Eleanor of Aquitaine crusading in the Holy Land, circa 1860s/70s, hand-coloured engraved leaf depicting a scene from the Crusades with Eleanor of Aquitaine and her husband King Louis VII meeting a Saracen leader in the Holy Land, framed by tiny gold spangles at either side, backed with ivory gauze, some splitting of folds to left and right edges, with associated staining (from old adhesive?), mounted on gilt decorated pierced bone sticks, 24 cm (9.5 ins) QTY: (1)NOTE:Rare: we have been unable to trace another fan bearing this engraving.
* Embroidery. A portion of early tapestry, British, circa 1700, tapestry strip formed from 2 mirror-image designs with central join, hand-worked in tent stitch, each with stylised carnation and paeony stems flanked by large volutes, in pink, cream, blue, green, yellow, and black, on a yellow ground, some threadbare patches and holes, 122 x 26.5 cm (48 x 10.5 ins), together with: A pair of finely-embroidered borders, Chinese, 19th century, hand-worked in polychrome silk threads, with floral and various other motifs, some fading, each 98 x 9 cm (38.5 x 3.5 ins), plus another piece of Chinese embroidery, incorporating metallic threads, sometime made into a table mat, 25.5 x 51 cm (10 x 20 ins), and a quantity of other items, mostly ladies' accessories, including a fringed silverwork ivory silk mat incorporating spangles, several large embroidered flowers for appliqué, a number of folding fans (all defective), some beaded and woven borders, 2 sequinned belts and 1 of jet, several bags, including a 1920s embroidered Egyptian-style evening bag, some early 20th century hosiery, and a folding cream silk parasol (worn), various sizes and condition QTY: (a carton)NOTE:Provenance: Collection of Romy Rey.
A Chinese black lacquered coffee table, with hardstone, ivory and gilt-painted decoration and inset glass top. 91x45x54cm. This item has been registered as exempt from the UK Ivory Act 2018 on account of it being made before 3rd March 1947 with less than 10% ivory by volume. An Anglo-Moorish chair with inlaid detail throughout. Ivory exemption certificate 9GERLGYT.Crude repair of left-hand upright of chair back. This has been nailed together, and there are some pieces of timber missing. Various use related scratches and marks. Small tear to leather on top rail. Leather upholstery on back panel appears to have been replaced.

Bechstein upright piano in ebonised case, numbered 124329, 350cm wide Ivory Submission Reference Q6ZU5UBZCosmetically the piano appears in good condition but with scratches/abrasions in some areas and wear to the ebonised finish on the right hand side. Small patch of veneer missing to front left foot. Wire mesh torn in places to back.The workings appear to be clean and sound however please note that we are not piano technicians and we respectfully request that you satisfy yourself or consult a specialist tuner/restorer to advise on the mechanics of the instrument prior to bidding.
A Steinway rosewood cased Model 'O' boudoir grand piano, numbered 140796 on square section tapering legs with spade feet, casters, approximately 180 x 143cm Formerly from the Sharrow Bay Hotel, Ullswater, Cumbria Ivory Submission Reference H7 JCKYSFCosmetically the piano is generally good however the case is worn/faded in places – particularly the left hand side and a couple of areas on the top. No obvious cracks or splits to sound board apparent from underneath instrument but please note, varnish patchy in areas. Surface scratches. Slight loses to veneer on legs. Repair to edge moulding on right hand side.The workings appear to be clean and sound however please note that we are not piano technicians and we respectfully request that you satisfy yourself or consult a specialist tuner/restorer to advise on the mechanics of the instrument prior to bidding.

A silk Kashan rug, Persia, 20th century, with red medallions and blue guls on an ivory field, within red ground floral borders, 220cm x 137cm.Minor wear and signs of use in places, wear to long edges and corners.
