An early 19thC ivory inlaid box, the hinged cover decorated with arabesque leaf scroll and small flowerheads around a central circular panel, one of four gilt metal rosettes absent, similar decoration to three sides, the hinged cover revealing a velvet lined tray, loop handles on rosettes to sides – replacement lock, 19” x 12.5” - possibly Anglo-Indian. REEL: Early J Jones Maker brass folding handle winch, 3" diameter with raised check housing, scratch with initials "G.O", and straight crank arm engraved "Registered 20th. March, 1843", revolving handle lock disc with Victorian kite mark and ivory handle knob, correct brass foot, smooth check, good finish.
After Paul Philippe (French 1870-1930), an Art Deco cold painted bronze and ivory figure of a dancer holding a tambourine, cast by Rosenthal & Maeder, circa 1928, mounted to a stepped circular base on marble plinth, the bronze signed 'Philippe, R U. M', 35cm. Condition Report: Some losses to the 'bronze effect' colouration on the clothing.Hairline cracks to the ivory of the head, face and hands.Base appears in good order.
