A German silver part tea service, Berlin, second half of 19th century, comprising teapot, milk jug and kettle, of compressed circular form with ivory ring finials and handles, with applied oval monogrammed cartouche, kettle stand missing, 40oz CONDITION REPORT: Jug: has dents to body and loose handle. Teapot: has dents, splits to handle and knop. End of spout is knocked and mishapen. Kettle: has dents, one of the lugs is knocked at an angle and pushed into body. Knop and handle split. Both lids have nibble to edges. Generally all pieces worn.
An Irish silver 'Armada' ewer, by West & Son, Dublin 1889, of bulbous form with elongated neck on trumpet base, decorated with winged figures, mythical beast and foliage, with presentation inscriptions, gilt interior, 35cm high, 33oz CONDITION REPORT: Small dent to one presentation inscription panel. Lid doesn't sit completely flush. Loss and cracks to bottom ivory insulator. Discoloured. Visible seam to top of handle and some spots of corrosion to lip of spout. Inscription: 'John Richard Ambrose Born February 13th 1937' and '1870-1920 Presented to Mr & Mrs Richard Findley on the occasion of their golden wedding as a token of respect and esteem from Smith Bros & Co Ltd'
A collection of six silver caddy spoons, one by Joseph Taylor, Birmingham 1812, with leaf shaped and engraved bowl and bifurcated fiddle pattern handle, 7.5cm long, a shovel caddy spoon with twisted whale bone handle, by same maker, Birmingham probably 1807, 10.5cm long, another shovel example with turned ivory handle, by Joseph Willmore, Birmingham 1806, monogrammed, 9.25cm long, two modern examples to include a jockey cap, and another Georgian example (6)
An 18th century gold mounted ivory box, inset with a miniature portrait by: Gervase Spencer (c.1715-1763), of a young lady, half length, in a black dress hung with pearls, white chemise and a black feathered hat, signed with initials and dated 1749, on ivory, oval 4.7 x 3.8cm, box 11cm long CONDITION REPORT: Later mirror and relining to interior. Ivory doesn't sit flush to the gold mounts at one end. Splits to both ends of box - see images. No other major faults but the box has been restored: Interior has been relined and has new glass. The miniature and the box generally has been cleaned, scratch mark numbers to rim.
