19th Century Chinese lacquered work box and stand, the box having typical gilded decoration depicting figures amongst pagodas and scrolling foliage on a black ground, opening to reveal a fitted interior with numerous ivory and vegetable ivory requisites, 35.5cm wide, the floor stand with conforming decoration, rectangular tray top and standing on a turned pillar and platform tripod base with carved giltwood claw terminals, overall height including box 83cm The box - some damage and missing lacquer at the back in the area of the hinges. Minor damage to the original feet. The box cover is generally more worn than the rest and has a small area which is lifting.
