After Franz Winterhalter - fine quality Victorian miniature portrait on ivory panel - 'The Family of Queen Victoria', depicting Queen Victoria, Prince Albert and five of their children in a classical setting, signed - C. Winterhalter, in presentation ebonised frame with moulded leaf decoration, engraved yellow metal slip with crown and mother of pearl inlaid wreath above and ribbon below, convex glass and original red paper backing with ring suspension mount, the image 11.5cm x 17.5cm, the frame 24cm x 30cm. This fine miniature is a variant of the Official Royal portrait painted by The Court painter Franz Winterhalter for Queen Victoria in 1846. The miniature was probably commissioned by The Queen as a Royal Presentation gift around 1847 - 1850 and is certainly painted by a good hand

Some of the tines of the forks are slightly worn and bent. Knives have splits to handles and corrosion to blades. Mounts to ends of handles are worn. One is missing and another has a solder repair.
