An important European brass smoother with d/t steel sole 11 3/4" x 1 3/4" nicely engraved on the side F. LINKE Paris 1903 in oval frame with heavy knurled brass lever screw, the rosewood handle and front knob with ivory decoration. 1903 was the year cabinetmaker Francois Linke set up his prestigious showrooms at 26 Place Vendome, Paris and this plane was likely to have been a presentation piece to commemorate the occasion (illustrated Russell fig 821) G+

An E Pezold Patent metamorphic walking cane / pipe with ivory mouthpiece, the screw off handle with screw cap terminal over a bamboo type shaft to a metal cap unscrewing to reveal another ivory mouthpiece, together with accompanying handwritten inscription "This walking cane was given to N E Brown by Thomas K Rogers, December 1850...... This walking stick was one of two that were made for Albert Edward Prince of Wales and given to me by the maker, E Brown..... T K Rogers was a cousin of my father N E Brown....", initialled and dated 1936, 84 cm long CONDITION REPORTS Overall with general wear, scuffs and dirt. Small hairline cracks to exterior handle / pipe section. Some chips and losses to inner lip of pipe section beneath the screw-off end section. Mouthpiece with some discolouration, yellowing and wear. A splits to the cane shaft around the screw-fit area. Split running vertically down the cane shaft. Split to metal end to tip / base of cane. The tip also unscrews to reveal the second mouthpiece, which has some wear and scuffs, some knocks and scratches and small darkened split. The screw fit area of the cane at tip/base end also with some splits. The splits do not run the entire length of the cane, but appear to be of various sizes including on approx 10cm long. Most splits to wood are 'hairline' although one near to near maker's name has opened slightly.
An ivory page turner with embossed handle of wrythen form (Birmingham hallmarks, date mark and maker's mark rubbed), 40.5 cm long CONDITION REPORTS Overall with wear and scuffs. Some yellowing and browning and dirt to ivory. Ivory is loose within its mount. There appear to be repairs to mount and also a couple of small holes, dents, knocks and some mis-shaping. Handle with various knocks and dents. Some small nicks and chips to edge of ivory.
A Victorian ivory page turner with engraved and embossed handle in the Aesthetic taste (by Adie and Lovekin, Birmingham 1888), 36.2 cm long CONDITION REPORTS Ivory slightly loose in its mount and appears to have been re-glued at some stage. Various glue deposits around the silver mount. Handle with some light general wear and scuffs and small knocks and dents. Ivory with some scratches and some small nicks to edges.

A 19th Century Russian silver sugar box and cream jug with ivory handles, the rectangular bodies with embossed and semi-reeded decoration, raised on a rectangular foot (bears Assay Masters mark for Nikolay Dubrovin 1834 Moscow), sugar box 8 cm high, 6.63 oz CONDITION REPORTS General wear and scratches, dents. The sugar basin has a dent in the right corner and midway down at the point of the decoration. The finial on the sugar basin has an odd mount. The creamer has a dent to the left side of the pouring spout, and another to the main body. The handle has some splits. The joins at both ends of the handle to the silver have some small losses and crudely placed pins. there is a dent in the base of the handle join.
An early 20th Century Indian carved ivory figure group of an elephant and howdah raised on an oval base and three paw feet, 19.5 cm high CONDITION REPORTS General wear and scuffs and some chips - including to ears and extremeties. One of the finials has broken off / come unglued but is present. Tip of one tusk is missing. Legs are separate and are glued / fillered into the base.
An Anglo-Indian padouk wood cabinet on stand, the top with brass bound corners, over two fielded panelled doors enclosing two long and three short drawers with marquetry inlaid decoration, flanked by heavy cast brass carrying handles, raised on a base in mahogany on turned supports united by a two drawer undertier, 55.5 cm wide x 107 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Has general wear, bumps, bruises, crazing to the varnish conducive with age and wear. The left hand side back has a split going approximately half way up from the base - about 1 cm in from the edge. Has replacement handles and a strip on the right hand side has been replaced (see image). The interior ivory panels are split with small sections missing. The central four mock drawers have no applied decoration although holes where it used to be. Brass handles appear to be replacements. The top and bottom drawer liners appear to be split. The later stand has knocks, chips, scratches, etc conducive with age and use. Drawer liners are split.
