CHINESE IVORY CHECKERS & BOX - 19th c. set of red & white Chinese Handcarved Checker Pieces, each with a different court scene in deep relief on both sides, 1 1/4" (3.2 cm) x 3/8" (1.0 cm), good condition; PLUS 19th c American Inlaid Travel Game Box having checkerboard exterior and backgammon interior, 3" (7.6 cm) x 12 3/4" (32.4 cm) x 7 1/2" (19.1 cm) folded, ink stains, some lifting and splitting of veneer.
PAIR FINE HAND FANS - Fine Matched Pair of China Trade round black lacquered papier mache hand fans, circa 1820-30, having scalloped edge, fancy carved and gilt wood and ivory handles, the face of each fan hand painted with portraits of European women at windows, surrounded by a wreath of gilt flowers, with pinstripe edging, the reverse blank and with applied hangers, 17 1/2" (44.5 cm) long overall, 9 3/4" (24.8 cm) diam, damage to one petal on one fan, chip to ivory finial on one handles, very light crazing to the oil painting portraits. Descended in the Ropes family of Salem, Mass. Early paper label verso reads `Mrs. J. Bertram Ropes`.

Some wear, staining on one corner and part of the border, one ink stain, loss to edges and fringe, professionally cleaned.

RARE JAPANESE IVORY CARVING - 19th c Japanese Carved Ivory `Birthing` Doll, being a figure of a reclining female, nude other than earrings, bracelet and bound foot slippers, anatomically explicit, a smile on her face, her hair down her back and also arranged on top of her head by a bow, which when depressed, pushes a male baby from her, 6" (15.2 cm) long, fine condition, toned.
SHERATON DRESSER - Four Drawer Sheraton Period Dresser in mahogany, with inset bowfront, four cookie corner rope edge inlaid top, graduated beaded edge drawers with diamond ivory escutcheons, original pressed brass knobs, continuous ribbed stiles resolved in four urn shaped ribbed legs, 41" tall, 45" x 20 3/4", fine condition.

TWO-PANEL CHINESE SCREEN - Late 19th c Chinese Two Panel Screen in ornately carved hardwood frame with reticulated figures, finished ends, set on metal casters, having lacquered panels in black and cinnabar with deep relief inlaid ivory and mother-of-pearl rendering of eagles on flowering branches, sparrows in flight, each panel is 73" (185.4 cm) x 31" (78.7 cm) x 2" (5.1 cm), some losses to inlay.
