Three 19th Century Chinese ivory carved items, including a shaped card case depicting an elder seated below a prunus tree, the reverse with elder and student, a small circular box and cover with chrysanthemum carved base, an oval brooch in 9 ct gold frame, together with a 19th Century Indian carved ivory elephant with seated maharaja and an Eastern European ivory carved brooch of orthodox churchThere is damage to each of the items in this lot.One of the figure in the brooch is missing its head, the elephant rider is missing the canopy, the card case is cracked and has holes where the carving has made it thin. The pill box has cracks to the lid and body, and the Russian brooch is missing the tips of two of the church minarets.
A Meiji period carved ivory and shibayama Okimono, modelled as a dragon master lifting a sea dragon clear of the reaching hands of Futen, signed to the base within a red lacquer panel 22 cm HThere are splits to the ivory all over, some damage to the dragon above figure's head. All applied gems/stones still present. The point is missing to part of the dragons head. Generally good condition, no obvious signs of significant damage or repair
A 19th century Chinese ivory fan, carved with terraced buildings and figures, decorated with polychrome scenes of domesticity 28 cm LThere has been a repair made to the paper on one end of the paper part of the fan and a small section of damage to the border towards the centre of the inside arc.
A fine, contemporary French marquetry lidded box by Elie Bleu, Paris with yellow suede interior (9.5 x 13 x 5.5 cm) and a Regency ivory bodkin case studded with rose gold dot- detailing, press stud and hinge (Length 8 cm). (Slight surface damage to the reverse of the bodkin case with two small hairline cracks in the ivory). (2)
