CONDITION REPORT: Split from left hand side of grotesque mask; ill fitting inserted base. Staining and mild cracks to seal. Please see additional images.
A small collection of mixed ceramics, comprising an Edwardian Royal Worcester blush ivory jug decorated with flowers, date 1903 (af), an early 20th century Italian footed lidded bowl with twin handles, decorated with roundels of Italian Renaissance characters (af), a 19th century cup and two saucers and an Ironstone plate (4). CONDITION REPORT: Royal Worcester jug has been extensively and crudely repaired to the whole neck, the Italian bowl has been restored throughout and part of the handle is separated but present. The gilt heightened cup has a firing flaw to the bottom. Ironstone plate has crazing.
A Japanese Meiji period carved hardwood netsuke modelled as a tiger and cub, length 4cm, a similar carving of a Dog of Fo with two puppies, on oval base, both inset with mother-of-pearl roundel with signatures, a further carved ivory netsuke and a bone example modelled as a man holding an oversized pine cone (4). CONDITION REPORT: Minor chip to end of Dog of Fo beard/whiskers. Bone tiger and cub has two splits to underside. Restoration to tail of hardwood tiger and cub.
A Japanese Meiji period carved ivory netsuke modelled as two figures seated beside a large sack, signed to red plaque to the base, width 4.2cm, a Japanese Meiji period carved ivory okimono of a monkey, a further ivory netsuke of two figures and two bone netsuke (5). CONDITION REPORT: Monkey: splits throughout to both arms, legs and up back. Small split to base of double seated figure group and tiny chip to small figure.
A pair of Japanese carved ivory okimono depicting elderly gentlemen carrying tools raised on oval plinths and signed to base, height each approx 8cm, a further ivory carving of Guanyin on a lotus decorated base, height 9cm and a thin sliced section of ivory now with easel back, height 9.25cm (4).

A 19th century ivory patch box of navette form, the hinged lid set with a later watercolour of an eye, enclosing a mirrored interior with yellow metal trim, length 8.7cm. CONDITION REPORT: Splits and repairs and losses to the ivory, the watercolour eye is a late replacement, mirror interior is cracked and is also tarnished to the edges, heavy wear to the velvet lining.
A Japanese Meiji period carved ivory netsuke modelled as a seated figure with book open in front of him and signed to an inset red plaque to base, height 3.5cm and a further Japanese carved ivory netsuke of a gentlemen seated beside a large fish with a rat nibbling at the fish's face, length 5.3cm (2).
A collection of six silver thimbles in cases, comprising a domed Mauchline Ware case, containing a flower head decorated thimble, size 18, James Swan, Birmingham 1901, a pierced vegetable ivory acorn shaped screw top case, containing a 935 standard silver thimble with guilloche enamel band, an egg shaped case containing a thimble decorated with all over dots, size 14, Birmingham 1927, a bone circular screw top case containing a flower head decorated thimble with dot border, size 7, Birmingham, probably 1919 and two other cased silver thimbles (6). CONDITION REPORT: Mauchline Ware case has a slight ripple to the transfer. Vegetable ivory case has internal natural fracture but the thimble is OK. Bone example has splits and holes to thimble. Two leather case examples both have holes.
An English ivory group of Cupid and Venus, she stands naked but for a drape, beside her Cupid sharpens his arrow on a pedestal, signed R. C. Lucus and dated 1837, the group stands on a tall blonde tortoiseshell veneered pedestal, height 27.5cm. (See illustration) Condition Report: Some small amounts of veneer missing from plinth, Ivory in good condition, all intact no splits.
