A ‘Little girl blowing Bubbles’ Roullet & Decamps Jumeau bisque head automata, French circa 1880, beautiful pale bisque head with fixed brown glass paper-weight eyes, finely painted lashes and feather brows, open mouth, pierced ears with pearl and glass earrings, original cork pate and blonde wig with ivory ribbon, flange neck to carton torso and legs, bisque lower arms with detailed fingers, and wearing a pink silk and lace dress with matching slippers, holding a metal bowl in left hand and pipe in right hand, for blowing bubbles, standing on a red velvet base with key wind mechanism and stop/start lever, when wound she dips the pipe into the bowl of soapy water and lifts to mouth, the head moves up and down to blow bubbles, under a glass dome on wooden base, red ‘Tete Jumeau’ stamp to back of head, (bubbles occur from bellows system hidden inside torso which causes air to create bubbles), (condition: head and hands perfect, music needs attention), automata 17”(44cm) tall, dome 22” (56cm) tall.
