A blond tortoiseshell two division tea caddy, early 19th century, having a shaped front inlaid with mother of pearl flowers, the interior edges lined in ivory and with zinc lined compartments, 18.5 cm wide, 11.5 cm high, 11 cm deep (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The caddy is in generally good original condition. The top has a scuff and small loss to the centre rear panel. There are minor nibbles to the tortoiseshell on the points of the corners. The hinges are original and operate as they should. There is a loss to the tortoiseshell of about 0.5 cm square just above the right hand hinge. The front right and panel has a repair to the top right hand corner. There is a small nibble to the top left. The rear and side panels are in good condition. The plinth base has numerous small scuffs and nibbles, particularly on the left and right hand returns. There are no feet. The mother of pear appears principally intact.
A Persian silk rug, hand woven with a large central terracotta medallion and multi floral design on an ivory ground within a stylised main border stripe with four guard stripes, bearing signature. 200 cm x 198 cm excluding fringes (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: There are one or two very minor tufts within the border of the main field but on the whole this appears to be in very good condition throughout with no obvious visible faults, tears or repairs.
A Persian silk rug, hand woven with a tree of life design on an ivory ground within a conforming main border stripe with two guard stripes. 232 cm x 148 cm excluding fringes (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: From a distance the carpet looks to be in good clean order throughout but on close inspection the lower quarter is littered with numerous small stains. There are some circular depressions similar to that which a table would make which leads us to believe that this is mostly likely spent its life partially beneath a coffee table and the staining along the bottom and top quarter are most likely spillages. I cannot see any tears or repairs. There is the odd loose thread within the red border. A good professional clean may remedy this carpet from its issues.
