A mid-18th Century hunting sword, German or Austrian, broad single edged blade 22 1/4 in. with simulated watering incorporating depictions of two ships which retain traces of gilding, continental silver mounted ivory hilt with hunting and martial motifs in relief to the ecousson, short quillons entwined with leaves, grip carved with celestial motifs and with a silver escutcheon similarly decorated to each side, pommel carved in the form of a turbanned head, leather covered scabbard with silver chape and locket embossed ensuite to the hilt
An impressive Asian chopping weapon, possibly Indian or Burmese, heavy single edged blade 13 1/2 in., the ridged back curving away from the edge to describe a hump a third of the way up before curving forward to form the point; hilt with three stage white metal covering comprising a foliate embossed collar, a plain grip, a band embossed with a writhing serpent; carved ivory pommel richly embellished with grotesque figures; lacks scabbard.
