A George III three piece silver tea set, by Joeph Angell I, London 1814-16, comprising teapot, milk jug and sugar bowl, all of circular form, with semi-fluted embossed decoration, undulating scroll and gadrooned shoulders, raised upon quadruple ball feet, the teapot with fruit wood handle carved with scroll acanthus leaf thumb piece and silver acanthus leaf swan neck and silver mounted carved ivory finial, the milk and sugar with matching acanthus leaf scroll handles, (gross weight 1349.8g). A Victorian Silver Coffee Pot, William Wrangham Williams, London 1870, retailed by Lambert Coventry St., London, oval tapering form, engraved with foliate swags and a ribbon tied oval reserve to each side, carved ivory handle and finial, and bead borders, 21cm high, 20oz 18dwtClear marks to underside of base, part marked to cover. Some age cracks showing on ivory. Engraving all fairly crisp. Reserved vacant, possibly engraving taken out but neither is particularly thin. Bruise to bottom of spout and occasional light knock to body.
A Victorian Aesthetic Movement Silver Three Piece Tea Service, Joseph & Horace Savory (Goldsmiths Alliance), London 1890, of oval form, engraved with cranes and other birds, bamboo, butterflies, reeds and other foliage in the Japanese taste, engraved to one side with a crest and inscribed Burton 1880-1895, the teapot 24cm long, 28oz 8dwt (3) Quite a few of the punches are rubbed, but marks still legible, cover is part marks. The bases are also applied with the Savory Goldsmiths Alliance trade mark. Decoration is still clear and reasonably crisp. Teapot with ivory insulators and finial, the finial does not tighten fully. Cover fits well and closes tightly.

A 19thC French Fan, with sixteen Mother-of-Pearl sticks and two guard sticks, intricately carved in light relief and pierced with stylized foliate decoration, with a hand-painted paper leaf depicting a romantic scene, highlighted in gold paint on the front, and a hand painted kid leather leaf depicting a child blowing bubbles on the reverse, 7½in (19cm) long, 14in (36cm) span, leaf worn and split in places, small repairs to sticks, together with two other 19thC hand-painted French Fans, including an example with folding ivory sticks marked 'DEPOSE', the other signed 'R. A Japanese carved ivory and boxwood figure of a warrior, Meiji period (1868-1912)The male figure dressed in traditional robes, applied with ivory stained head and hands and holding a Yari in his left hand, modelled on a naturalistic wooden base with small dog at his feet. CONDITION REPORT: Small missing section to the centre of the figures left eye. Hairline cracks to the face. Broken away section to the ivory grass skirt (section present) Cracks to the neck. A Japanese carved ivory figure 'Hyotan Kara Koma (The horse in the gourd), Meiji period (1868-1912)The Sennin Chokoaro modelled seated holding a gourd and releasing a horse from the inside, signed, 7cm high. NB: The Japanese folklore of the Sennin Chokaro is legendary in Japanese and Chinese culture. The immortal figure owns a horse that he can magically conjure up from a gourd at any time. The Japanese expression hyotan Kara Koma (The horse in the gourd) refers to this story. The expression reminds us that in life, the unexpected can happen.
