A late Victorian Sheraton revival serpentine front compactum wardrobe, veneered in satinwood on mahogany and banded in amboyna, the detachable key decorated cornice above a central clothes press, with bow fronted sliding trays enclosed by a pair of doors with inlaid panels above three long graduated oak turned drawers, one with a label for Hamptons, Pall mall, London, and fitted with Hobbs & co., patent brass locks, flanked by hanging compartments enclosed by concave doors with inlaid ivory panels and dummy drawer fronts, fitted turned worn knob handles, the corner pilasters with Prince of Wales carved plumes capitols, on acanthus turned legs, with turned feet, panelled back. 7ft 8in (234cm) wide x 6ft 6in (198cm) high) x 27.5in (70cm) deep (overall). * The high quality indicates a possible connection with the Prince of Wales (later King edward VII) and Marlborough House.
A nineteenth century amber glass liqueur decanter, the neck applied prunts and mouldings, a silver neck and silver mounted cork stopper. Makers Aldwinkle & Slater, London hallmark 1885. Mounted with an earlier carved Japanese ivory netsuke of three Karako performing a shishimai dance. 8in (20cm) high overall.
