Japanese carved ivory okimono, Meiji period, depicting a man carrying an infant on his back, a child holding a toy aloft, bears signature that reads Masatomo, 17cm high The bear held by the child appears to have one arm slightly shorter than the other suggesting the end has been broken off, the man would have appear to have lost the lower portion of the axe handle and he may have held something originally in his right hand which is no longer there - ** General condition consistent with age
Late 19th Century Cantonese carved ivory visiting card case, each side having a central reserve panel within a border typically decorated with figures and buildings amongst foliage, 11.25cm high The removable top has a vertical fissure running from to bottom at a point approximately 5mm in from one side visible on all sides, there is a tiny flake in the ivory at a point on the cover at a point where it joins the base measuring approximately 2mm in diameter on the smooth edge section - ** General condition consistent with age
19th Century Cantonese heavily carved ivory visiting card case typically decorated with figures and buildings amongst foliage, 11.5cm high The locating slot of the base has a thin triangular slither missing which extends approximately 2/3 down the length of the slot section at its widest approximately 2mm wide, the joints in the cover on one side appear slightly open suggesting one end of the cover has been off and re-stuck - ** General condition consistent with age

In a generally good and market fresh condition, initialled A E M to one side, no major dents or splits, the topper of the spout is sharp to the touch of a finger, the ivory finial and handle have a few splits, but are quite a pleasing colour.
