An 18th century ladies fan, the ivory sticks with cut-out decoration of an urn flanked by ladies and men playing lutes amongst scrolling foliage and arches, the guards carved with a figure of a man, mother of pearl rivet, the leaves painted with fruits, a butterfly and a bird amongst flowering branches and leaves with gilt highlights
A George III inlaid mahogany bureau, 94 cm wide Condition report Report by GH Chips, scratches and gouges commensurate with age. Some knocks to the moulding around the fall front, and occasional areas of old restoration and filler. The hinges on the fall front appear to be later, and are loose in places. The inset writing surface which is green baize is also a recent replacement. Some of the arches, inside the pigeon holes are loose, but all are present. The inlaid drawer fronts are generally in reasonably good condition, with possible replacement handles. The top ivory escutcheon plate is broken off in half. Generally well used with some possible modifications, restorations and later parts.
