Pair of Chinese silk embroidered sleevebands, framed as one, late 19th/early 20th century, 24in. X 12 1/2 in. 61cm. X 32cm. The ivory silk damask ground joined vertically and embroidered in coloured silks with peonies and elaborate bats around a central circle of smaller bats and 'shou' motifs worked in Peking knot; within a narrow brocade ribbon border; outer border of dark blue silk embroidered in ivory and shades of blue with flowers and foliage. Framed and glazed.

Fine silk and metal thread embroidered silk ground altar frontal (antependium), possibly French or Italian, 18th century, 31in. X 65in. 79cm. X 165cm. The ivory silk ground beautifully embroidered in coloured silks with large realistic flowers and foliage entwined with silvered metal thread embroidered strapwork tendrils around the metal thread embroidered central IHS emblem within a sunburst outline; within a wide purple velvet border. Extensive shattering to the silk ground, now laid down on linen(?); with repairs in places and lined with fine dark blue cotton with hanging loop at the top edge..
Tekke Turkmen 5 x 3 gul torba, Turkmenistan, late19th century, 1ft. 4in. X 3ft. 9in. 0.41m. X 1.14m. Small hole inner guard top edge centre; crude repair above this and to the right; lacking both selvedges; added wool braid to right side. Remains of woollen fringing to lower edge. Finely woven in velvety wool with a good colour range including two shades of dark green; soft yellow and ivory details enlivening the somewhat sombre palette.
