Persian Kabyle Snaphaunce long gun, with 44 inch 32 bore barrel, inlaid with white metal wire, ivory butt.Section 58(2) Antique /obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence. Condition report: Action will not hold full cock and is stiff so could do with some attention. The bore is smooth but has substantial pitting. The metalwork generally has light pitting and minor surface corrosion. The stock is separating/splitting around the butt plate area. There are numerous small dents but nothing else defacing. There are two small brass screws missing from the trigger guard. Small sections of silver wire are lifting in areas and there has been an attempt by a previous owner to glue these back.

A rare early 19th century boxwood and ivory Piorry stethoscope, circa 1828: of four sections, main tube, cone, pleximeter and earpiece, 21cm long in storage configuration.*Notes- Developed in 1828 by Pierre Adolph Piorry (1794-1879) as a development of Rene Laennec's original stethoscope of 1816, It was a major modification of Laënnec's original, becoming the standard form of all subsequent monoaural stethoscopes throughout the 19th century and even into the 20th century. All other modifications were purely cosmetic, offering no distinct clinical advantage.
