Corieltavi, LAT ISON gold stater. Circa 40-47 AD. Retrograde, LAT ISO [N] between two plain lines over vertical wreath, pellet in diamond between LAT and ISO, ring of pellets in each quarter. R. Lunate horse right, pellet mane, three pellets below head, ISO inscription within box above, reversed N and inverted V below. 18mm, 4.64g. Ref: ABC 1956. Dark patina with gold undertones shining through in places. XRF testing at different points on the coin (obverse/reverse/edge) shows a gold content of 32% - 35%. Found in Nottinghamshire and recorded on the PAS database as SWYOR-0D5893 https://finds.org.uk/database/artefacts/record/id/1148829 This is a find of note and has been designated: For inclusion in British Numismatic Journal Coin Register.
Series R sceatta, primary phase circa 680-710 AD. Small radiate bust right with pyramidal neck on curved exergual lines either side of beaded line, runic legend in front, ITAT behind. R. Beaded votive standard enclosing TTOII, tufta containing trefoil of pellets, ITAI on either side. Ref: Abramson 11-20. S.813. 11mm, 1.16g.
Series H sceatta. Secondary Phase, circa 710-760 AD. Small bird centrally within beaded inner circle surrounded by 10 bosses. R. Pecking bird in beaded foliage right, wing raised and curled, feet splayed, rosette before. Extremely rare variety with pecking bird at centre of obverse. Only 2 other examples known. Abramson 48-10. 13mm, 1.08g.
Valentinian gold solidus. Circa 364-367 AD. D N VALENTINIANVS P F AVG, Diademed bust left, wearing imperial mantle, holding mappa and scepte. R. SALVS REIP, Valentinian I advancing left, stepping on captive, holding labarum and Victory on globe right, star in field. SMSISC and branch in ex. 23mm, 4.50g. Ref: RIC IX 1a (Siscia).
