A famille verte biscuit "beaker" vaseChina, Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1912), Kangxi (1661 - 1722)finely decorated in "Sancai" glazes on biscuit,Jingdezhen kilns,Jiangxi Province. This exquisite vase, crafted during the Kangxi era, showcases the unique beauty of Chinese biscuit porcelain. "Biscuit" refers to porcelain that has been fired but not glazed, resulting in a matte, unadorned surface. This technique allows for intricate carving and modeling, as well as a greater emphasis on the texture and form of the porcelain itself. The vase is further embellished with vibrant overglaze enamels, adding a splash of color and decorative detail to the unglazed surface. The motifs found on this vase include floral patterns, horses, cranes, auspicious symbols, or scenes from Chinese literature and mythology. The vase's form is typically elegant and refined, with a slender neck, a rounded body, and a flared base. The unglazed surface provides a tactile experience, inviting the viewer to appreciate the fine texture and craftsmanship of the porcelain.Provenance: French private collection - Galerie art asiatique, Marseille - R Duchange, 12 rue des St Pères, Paris 7èmeReferences: * Musée Guimet , ParisChefs-d'œuvre de la collection Grandidier de céramiques chinoises du musée nationnal des arts asiatiques - Guimet* A almost identical vase is conserved at the Museum of porcelain of Jingdezhen,China* "Leaping the dragon gate" The Sir Michael Butler Collection Of Seventeenth-Century Chinese Porcelain - page 523-424Height: 35 cm€ 3 000 - € 5 000
