Mauritius : 1891 Postal Stationery envelope surcharged 50c. on 1878 8c. Pale grey (H & G milky blue) hexagonal frame type around Queen's bust, P.O control mark in red "GENERAL POST OFFICE MAURITIUS" in crowned double circle with manuscript control signature "L.M.C.P." of Louis Martin Colonial Postmaster, Higgins and Gage B (Envelopes) 14, used envelope, cancelled by the barred numeral "B32", with red oval "Registered / Mauritius No. 22 AU 1891" alongside and large "R" in black, addressed to Marseille, France with appropriate arrival datesatmp of Marseille of September 20 (?) on reverse, Sismondo 2002 colour photo-certificate states in good condition and genuine in all respects. H&G state about 50 envelopes were prepared, Sismondo states "only 36". Extremely rare in used condition Mauritius specialist piece (image available) [US5]

A mid-19th Century Mahogany Cased 8-Day Longcase Clock, R W Tinkler - Newcastle, the arched hood surmounted by three turned finials over freestanding baluster columns to a moulded and shaped throat and long arched trunk door flanked by half columns of a panelled and plinth base (hood door A/F), to a 12" 3rd period painted Roman dial with gilt highlighted arch and spandrels, to a Roman chapter ring with outside minute track and enclosing subsidiaries for seconds and date with pierced and stamped brass hands, to a movement with plates united by four knopped pillars and with anchor escapement and strike on a bell, height 87" 100-150

A last quarter of 19th Century Silver cased, open face, key wind, lever watch, R Linford & Son - Norwich, 28167, the frosted and gilt movement with jewelled end stone, blued steel screws and monometallic balance with blued steel hairspring and lever escapement with fitted dust cover, to a signed Roman enamel dial with outside minute track, sunk subsidiary seconds and gilt hands (hour hand lacking), in a hinged case with engine turned back cover, centred with a vacant and gartered cartouche and further milled band, marked for London 1881, makers mark CH and with corresponding case number and engraved to the interior "W F Dunn", width 1 13/16" 40-50
