Contemporary decanter set - comprising crystal glass decanter with pierced silver gilt grapevine decoration and similar collar with glass stopper, six crystal glass wine glasses with silver gilt grapevine stems on circular bases and a circular wine coaster with pierced grapevine border and turned wooden base with central vine motif (London 1983), Hector Miller for Asprey London, in a fitted blue leather case with Asprey trademark and embossed - 'Col. R. J. Hoare C.B.E.', decanter 30cm overall height.N.B. This set was possibly commissioned by Asprey for Col. Hoare, who was a well known figure in motor racing and power boat racing in the 1960s and who set up Maranello Concessionaires Ltd., the agents for Ferrari in the U.K. at that time CONDITION REPORT Good overall condition excellent. Silver mounts are all complete. No visible signs of any damage or repair. Gilding on vine patterming is subdued. Glasses are undamaged, no chips or cracks. Decanter is in excellent condition, no damage to glass, possibly hand blown but not certain, there is a pontil mark to the underside. Stopper has no damage. Coaster base is slightly marked on wooden surface and leather underneath is lifting slightly. Case is in very good condition, some minor surface marking to exterior. Interior very clean. White lining to lid is stained on left hand inside
