A 9ct gold and sapphire set cigar cutter by Ramsden & Roed Ltd, 1970, the hexagonal shaped cutter with yellow gold textured finish, steel core and blade, the rose gold surmount inset with a sapphire cabochon, London hallmark, maker’s mark ‘R&R’ , retailers case by Kutchinsky, length 37mm. £200-£300 --- Condition Report General light surface wear commensurate with age and use. The sapphire is a medium blue hue with some light colour zoning. Gross weight 24gm.
An opal and diamond cluster ring, the opal cabochon claw-set within a surround of brilliant-cut diamonds, total diamond weight approximately 1.30 carats, ring size R½ - S. £500-£700 --- Condition Report General light surface wear commensurate with age and use. The opal displays good play of colour under direct light, with flashes of red, orange, green and blue. Very slight surface abrasion observed under 10x magnification. The diamonds are bright and lively. Gross weight 9.1gm.
A 19th century oval portrait miniature of a gentleman by Thomas Hargreaves, bust length, wearing a navy coat, cream waistcoat and stock, signed with initials ‘T H’, mounted verso with curled locks of hair arranged round a seed pearl-bordered oval blue enamel panel bearing the initials ‘W H’, watercolour on ivory, in a gilt metal plain frame, portrait dimensions 72 x 58 mm. £300-£500 --- Provenance: By family descent. Thomas Hargreaves (1775 - 1846), of Liverpool; apprenticed to Sir Thomas Lawrence; exhib. R A 1798, 1808 & 1809; a member of the Liverpool Academy. The metal with moderate tarnish and discolouration, would benefit form a professional polish. Ring size approximate as shank misshapen. The diamonds are bright and lively, with some minor nicks and inclusions typical to the nature of the stone observed under 10x magnification. Gross weight 4.7gm.

A Swiss diamond and cultured pearl suite by Gilbert Albert, circa 1960, comprising a collar necklace, ring and pair of ear clips, the design of fluid polished and textured beads, randomly spaced with collet set brilliant-cut diamonds and cream or pink spherical and bouton cultured pearls, the hinged ear clips with post fitting, all stamped with maker’s monogram and ‘750’, necklace length 37.5cm, ring size R, ear clips length 2.5cm. £3,600-£4,000 --- Born in 1930, Gilbert Albert began his career studying jewellery craftsmanship and design at L'Ecole des Arts Industriels in Geneva. In 1955 he became designer and head of Patek Philippe's workshop where he remained for seven years before founding his own atelier in 1962. He won the prestigious ‘Oscar’ award at the Diamonds International Awards ten times: three for Patek Philippe, two for Omega and five times under his own workshop – a unique achievement. “In the enchanted world of jewellery, every piece much be original in its execution.” Gilbert Albert. Military interest- Georgian pearlware pottery jug with hand painted panel depicting military trophies and named 'R. H. Billings, music master, 55 regt.", 16cm in height.There is restoration to the spout of the jug and significant restoration to the top rim. There is overall fairly significant scratching to the glaze and wear to the painted decoration as can be seen in the images.
