WW1 Hampshire Regiment MC, DCM & Bar Long Service Gallipoli & Western Front Group of Six Medals. An outstanding triple gallantry group awarded to Captain Joseph Warsap Milne MC., DCM* who commissioned in the field after winning DCM for leading his men during the Gallipoli landings and later the bar on the Western Front. Comprising: Military Cross, Distinguished Conduct Medal & Bar 5576 SJT J MILNE 2/HANTS REGT, 1914/15 Star, SJT HAMPS R, British War Medal, Victory Medal, MID Oak Leaf, CAPT, Army Long Service & Good Conduct Medal (GVR) 5576 SJT HANTS R. Group mounted for display. Military Cross London Gazette 4 October 1919. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty near Courtrai. On the night of 17th Oct. 1918, during a withdrawal across the River Lys, he was the first to cross and find out the situation on the Harlebeke-Courtrai Road. He was then entrusted with the right flank of the party covering the withdrawal. His post was repeatedly attacked by enemy patrols from Courtrai and he repulsed them in every case. Distinguished Conduct Medal London Gazette 6th September 1915 For conspicuous gallantry and ability during and subsequent to the landing operations on the Gallipoli Peninsula. Sjt. Milne performed consistent good work and showed the greatest coolness and bravery under hazardous conditions and at critical times. He led his platoon with great ability and judgement on several occasions and under very heavy fire, and has throughout displayed high powers of leadership and set a fine example of devotion to duty, which has given great encouragement to all with him Bar to the Distinguished Conduct Medal London Gazette 4th March 1918 For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in going out on his own initiative with a patrol and working his way up to a machine-gun which was causing casualties, opening fire on the gunners, and succeeded in driving them back. MID London Gazette 5th August 1915 Captain Joseph Warsap Milne MC., DCM* a pre war regular enlisting into the ranks of the Hampshire Regiment in 1899. After the outbreak of the Great War his Battalion was ordered to the Dardanelles. On the 25 April 1915, they landed at Cape Helles from their troopship River Clyde . His Regimental obituary would report in 1952 He has always been remembered for magnificent courage and determination in the landings at Gallipoli from the River Clyde during World War 1. Before his Battalion was ordered to withdraw from Gallipoli he was wounded. After a short rest in Egypt the Battalion was posted to the Western Front in March 1916. He fought in a number of battles including the Somme, on the 3rd June 1918 he was granted a Field commission. Remaining with the Battalion after the end of the war he was promoted to Lieutenant in December 1919, having served as an Acting Captain in command of a Company. After transferring to the reserve, he resigned his commission in March 1931 having reached the upper age limit. He died in 1952 having been an active member of the Regimental Association.

Awarded to Sergeant Drummer Henry John Tripp, after service in the Boer War volunteered to serve with the 4th Bn East Kent Regiment through the Great War and completed 23 years as a Territorial Soldier. Comprising: Queen South Africa Medal (Ghost Dates), five clasps Tugela Heights, Orange Free State, Relief of Ladysmith, Transvaal, Laing Nek, 4176 PTE J TRIPP 2ND E SURREY REGT, King South Africa Medal, clasps South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902, 4176 DMR E SURREY REGT, 1914/15 Star, 585 SJT DMR H J TRIPP E KENT R, British War Medal, Victory Medal, 585 SJT E KENT R, Territorial Force Efficiency Medal (GVR), Second Award Clasp, 20044 SJT DMR H.J. TRIPP 4/E KENT R. Group mounted for display , with two original postcards and a quantity of research. Sergeant Drummer Henry John Tripp enlisted into the 2nd Bn East Surrey Regiment and served in South Africa from October 1899 to September 1902, returning to the UK he transferred to the Army Reserve in 1903 and 1908 volunteered for service with the 4th Bn East Kent Regiment. At the outbreak of the Great War he was mobilised and the Battalion was posted to India, embarking on the 28th October 1914. On arrival the Battalion after a short time was sent to Aden landing on the 5th October 1915 and in January 1916 returned to India, where it remained until March 1919. During his service in India his name was noted for valuable service and he was awarded the red and 3 Blue overseas chevrons. On his return he remained with the 4th Bn East Kent Regiment until 1931.

WW1 11th Bn Royal Fusiliers, 17th Bn Manchester Pals Regiment MC, DCM, group of five medals. Awarded to Captain Fred Ruddy, who won the Distinguished Conduct Medal, with the 11th Bn Royal Fusiliers on the Somme 1916 and after been commissioned into the Manchester Regiment was awarded the Military Cross, whilst serving with the 17th (2nd City Pals) Battalion. Comprising: Military Cross, Distinguished Conduct Medal, 2058 L.CPL F. RUDDY 11/R. FUS, British War Medal, Victory Medal CAPT, Defence Medal. Medals mounted for display ... The group is accompanied by a miniature medal group of the first four medals... Original postcard photograph of a group of Manchester, with Capt Ruddy ... Selection of newspaper cuttings ref the award of the DCM ... Also a large quantity of detailed research. Citation for the MC appeared in the London Gazette on the 16th September 1918. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty, while commanding a Company during a hostile attack. He formed a defensive flank and when the enemy broke through and both flanks were in the air, he held on and inflicted severe loss on them, before withdrawing in good order. He then took up a new position, collected stragglers from other units and maintained his position, in spite of heavy barrages and strong attacks, for two days, when he was relieved. Citation for the Distinguished Conduct Medal appeared the London Gazette on the 25th November 1916 For conspicuous gallantry in action. He found the central enemy telephone dug out attacking it and capturing 15 prisoners. Later he held the post for twelve hours under intense fire. Captain Fred Ruddy was born in 1895 and at the outbreak of the Great War was clerk for the United Counties Bank in Liverpool, the newspaper cutting indicate that he originally joined the 26th Bankers Bn Royal Fusiliers in February 1916. before landing in France and joining the 11th Bn. The cuttings also indicate that the DCM action was at Thiepval. He received a commission into the Manchester Regiment in September 1917 and returned to France to serve with the regiment. Promoted to Captain, he was given command of a Trench Mortar Battery. He resigned his commission in 1919 and entered the cotton industry. A keen fly fisherman, he was appointed Captain of the English Fly Fishing Team

Private George A Green landed in Egypt on the 24th August 1915 and was listed as being wounded on the 24th July 1916 and the 14th September 1916.

Accompanied by a 1914/15 Star awarded to 25740 PTE J HALLETT GLOUC R. Private Herbert William Hallett enlisted into the Royal marines on the 24th March 1917, he embarked for France and was posted to the 1st Battalion Royal Marines on the 28th June 1917 he was reported missing later killed on the 26th October 1917. Private James Hallett enlisted into the 7th Bn Gloucestershire Regiment and was Killed in Action on the 21st April 1916. Both men came from Chard Somerset.

Awarded to Sergeant James Christison Davie, who won the Military Medal and Croix de Guerre with the Black Watch and died in Iraq whilst serving with the Military Foot Police. Comprising: Military Medal, (2049 SJT J.C. DAVIE 1/R. HIGHRS), 1914 Star, with clasp (2049 PTE J DAVIE R HIGHRS), British War Medal, Victory Medal, MID Oak Leaf (2049 PTE J.C. DAVIE R HIGHRS), French Croix de Guerre. Group mounted for display with research. Military Medal London Gazette 11th February 1919 Mention in Despatches London Gazette 21st December 1917 French Croix de Guerre London Gazette 10th October 1918. Sergeant James Christison Davie a native of Montrose and pre war soldier landed with the 1st Bn Black Watch on the 13th August 1914, he is noted in a contemporary newspaper cutting as been wounded in the early part of the war, he was also officially reported wounded on the 12th December 1918. The MM is believed to have been awarded for gallantry during September 1918. He was discharged and awarded the Silver War Badge on the 10th April 1919. He then enlisted into the Military Foot Police, promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal and posted to Iraq, whilst on service he died on the 8th August 1920 and is remembered with Honour at Baghdad (North Gate) War Cemetery.

Awarded to Major Douglas Louis Waghorn, who was awarded the DCM in 1916 with the 20th (Blackheath and Woolwich) Bn London Regiment and after being commissioned into the Lancashire Fusiliers was awarded the MC for action 1918. He would rejoin his old regiment and serve in North West Europe during the Second World War. Comprising: Military Cross, Distinguished Conduct Medal, (1880 PTE D/L/ WAGHORN 20/ LOND REGT T.F), 1914/15 Star, (PTE 20- LOND R), British War Medal, Victory Medal, MID Oak Leaf (CAPT), 1939/45 Star, France & Germany Star, Defence Medal, War Medal, MID Oak Leaf. The group is now mounted for display, but accompanied by an oak glazed frame, which once housed the group ... Also a quantity of detailed research. Military Cross London Gazette 26th July 1918. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. When a party of the enemy succeeded in entering a copse, from which the whole of the position could be commanded, he organised a counterattack, under heavy machine-gun and trench mortar fire and drove them out. Six enemy dead and a machine-gun were found in the position Distinguished Conduct Medal London Gazette 14th January 1916 For conspicuous gallantry. Private Waghorn showed great courage and resource in organising the supply of bombs and assisting his officer when the enemy made a counterattack. Mention in Despatches London Gazette 4th January 1917, 4th April 1946. Major Douglas Louis Waghorn MC., DCM was born in 1896 at Tulse Hill Lambeth London, he volunteered into the 20th London Regiment and landed in France on the 9th March 1915. Following the award of the DCM he was selected for a commission and this was confirmed in the Lancashire Fusiliers on the 4th March 1916. He quickly found himself back in France with his new Regiment as the regimental history notes: A raid, under the command of Second Lieutenant D. L. Waghorn, tried on the night of 9th/10th July (1916) to enter the German lines in order to take prisoners and inflict casualties but with strict orders to avoid losses in view of the weak state of the unit; and, though it was not able to damage the enemy, it was successful in finding out how and in what strength the enemy was holding the remains of the line. In May 1917 he was promoted to Captain now serving with the 10th Bn His action resulting in the award of the Military Cross was again noted in the Regimental History: At 5:30 a.m. on 31 March (1918) the Battalion co-operated in an attack by a Brigade on its left to the extent of making a Chines attack, that is, firing Lewis guns and rifles. During the afternoon of that day an enemy party about thirty strong advanced and entered a copse opposite "A" Company (Captain D. L. Waghorn, DCM) from which the whole of the position was commanded. Waghorn promptly organised a counterattack and, in spite of heavy machine-gun and trench-mortar fire, drove them out; killing six and capturing a machine gun. Captain Waghorn was awarded his Military Cross for this action. Surviving the war he resigned his commission and entered the world of Banking, however at the outbreak of the Second World War he once again volunteered and was granted an Emergency Commission into the Green Howards in August 1942, however he soon transferred to his old Regiment the Lancashire Fusiliers and remained with them through the North West Europe campaign, earning a MID and in April 1945 was granted the Temporary rank of Major. He died at Littlehampton in 1975

HOLLOWS 6/ E YORK R), 1914/15 Star, (18619 PTE E YORK R), British War Medal, Victory Medal (18619 SJT E YORK R), French Medaille Militaire, Group mounted for display with a quantity of research. Military Medal Bar London Gazette 20th August 1919 Military Medal London Gazette 24th January 1919 French Medaille Militaire London Gazette 15th December 1919 Confirmed in Regimental Magazine Sergeant Richard Hollows was born in 1892 and in the pre war years was a local Skipping and Wrestling champion. He enlisted into the East Yorkshire Regiment being posted to the 6th Bn. He landed at the Gallipoli on the 8th September 1915, the Battalion was then withdrawn and transferred the Western Front in July 1916.

WW1 7th Bn King Own Regiment French Croix de Guerre Group of Four Medals. Awarded to 1-11991 Private Arthur Claxton Royal Lancaster Regiment. Comprising: 1914/15 Star (11991 PTE R LANC R), British War Medal, Victory Medal, (1-11991 PTE R LANC R), French Croix de Guerre. Group mounted for display, accompanied by a quantity of research. French Croix de Guerre. London Gazette 14th July 1917 Private Arthur Claxton was born in Salford and had previously served four years with the 8th Bn Lancashire Fusiliers, before enlisting into the King Own on the 18th August 1914. He was posted to the 6th Bn and landed in France on the 26th January 1915. In May 1915 he was wounded with a gunshot wound to the face and returned to Blighty in June 1915. Recovering he rejoined his Regiment in August 1915. He later served with the Labour Corps and was discharged with the award of the Silver War Badge on the 31st January 1919. His service papers confirm the award of the French Croix de Guerre.

Comprising: Queen South Africa Medal, three clasps Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, (5238 PTE NORTH'D FUS), King South Africa Medal two clasps, South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902, (PTE NORTH'D FUS), 1914 Star, with clasp (5238 PTE 1/NORTH'D FUS), British War Medal, Victory Medal, (A CPL NORTH'D FUS), Army Long Service & Good Conduct Medal (GVR), (55884 CPL C GREEN ESSEX R), Roumanian Croix de Virtute Militara. Group mounted for display... Accompanied by a quantity of research. Roumanian Croix de Virtute Militara London Gazette 20th September 1919. Corporal Charles Green enlisted into the Northumberland Fusiliers on the 10th December 1897 at the age of 20 years a native of Stourton Caundle Dorsetshire. He was posted to South Africa on the 4th November 1899 and remained there until February 1903. He extended his service and at the outbreak of the Great War embarked for France landing with the 1st Bn on the 13th August 1914. On the 14th April 1915 he was wounded and returned to Blighty on the 29th April 1915. He would remain on Home Service been attached to the 13th Bn Worcestershire Regiment, the Bedfordshire Regiment and in January 1918 the 15th Bn Essex Regiment which at the time was a Garrison Battalion. The 15th Essex were transferred from Garrison duties and posted to the BEF on the 6th May 1918, Corporal Green embarking with them. Whilst serving his second period in France he was awarded the Roumanian Croix de Virtute Militara. He returned home 1st March 1919.

Comprising: Distinguished Conduct Medal (15649 C.S. MAJ G BROWN 7/NORF R), 1914/15 Star, (SJT NORK R), British War Medal, Victory Medal, MID Oak Leaf, (W.O. CL2 NORF R), Belgium Croix de Guerre. They are housed in a British Legion medal wallet. Distinguished Conduct Medal London Gazette 1st January 1918. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. During six months he rendered good and meritorious service and set a fine example in carrying out whatever task has been allotted to him under circumstances of extreme danger and difficulty. Mention In Despatch London Gazette 22 May 1917 Belgium Croix de Guerre London Gazette 15th April 1916. Warrant Officer George Brown was a native of Thixendale Malton Yorkshire and volunteered on the 7th September 1914 and was posted to the 7th Bn Norfolk Regiment, quickly promoted to Sergeant he landed in France on the 30th May 1915. He was wounded in September 1918 and admitted to hospital and was discharged in March 1919.

WW1 11th Bn Worcestershire Regiment Military Medal Serbian Cross of Karageorge, Group of Six A very unique regimental combination with a Citation Military Medal awarded to Colour Sergeant William Joseph Blood MM. Comprising: Military Medal (16104 SJT W.J. BLOOD 11/WORC R), 1914/15 Star, (L.SJT WORC R), British War Medal, Victory Medal (A. C SJT WORC R), Defence Medal, Serbian Cross of Karageorge 1st Class Gold Star with swords. Group mounted for display. Military Medal London Gazette 28th September 1918. The citation for the award appeared in the Battalion War Diary: Being a platoon commander he led his platoon through a heavy hostile barrage. The platoon suffered heavy casualties but he rapidly collected and organised about 40 stragglers and led them to the front where he filled a gap in the line and prevented the enemy piercing it at this point. This portion of the line was subjected to heavy Trench Mortar fire almost continuously but Sjt Blood maintained his ground and encouraged his men by his personal bravery. Being forced to withdraw eventually owing to superior numbers he again collected some men and went forward to the enemy's position. He succeeded in reaching it and held it against all counterattacks until ordered to withdraw about two hours later. He showed remarkable initiative and courage throughout the operations. Serbian Cross of Karageorge London Gazette 7th June 1919 Colour Sergeant William Joseph Blood MM at the outbreak of the war was 20 years old and he volunteered into the Worcestershire Regiment posted to the 11th Bn he had attained the rank of Lance Sergeant when the Bn landed in France on the 21st September 1915. The battalion served on the Western Front for two months before transferring to Salonika, where despite long periods of boredom the Battalion saw extensive action against the Bulgarian army. The Battalion would end their service fighting in South Russia. Returning home for discharge Colour Sergeant Blood was employed in the railways and his long service was rewarded after 40 years with a British Railways faithful service certificate. During WW2 he once again volunteered serving with 14 Bn South Staff Home Guard at that time he was living in Stafford. Information provided by the vendor indicates this is a unique regimental combination.

Private James McDonagh enlisted into the 2nd Bn South Staffordshire Regiment in 1880 he was transferred to the reserve in 1896 and became a police officer. He was recalled for service in South Africa and was discharged on the 1st July 1901. At the outbreak of the WW1 he volunteered once again this time into the Royal Warwickshire Regiment, but due to age was transferred to the Royal Defence Corps. Colour Sergeant James Thomas McDonagh MM., MSM. Military Medal London Gazette 3rd June 1916 Meritorious Service Medal London Gazette 17th June 1918. Mention in Despatches London Gazette 1st January 1916. CSM McDonagh enlisted into the Coldstream Guards about 1907. He landed in France on the 12th August 1914, gaining the Star & Clasp. The MIC indicates the Star was returned. Private William Hannaford McDonagh originally enlisted in 1915 giving his age as 19, he was infact only 15 years old and was discharged 6 months later before being sent overseas. He reenlisted and was posted to the 10th Bn Royal Warwickshire Regiment and Died of Wounds on the 9th June 1918. Gunner John (Henry) McDonagh landed in France after the 1st January 1916, he was posted to the 262nd Siege Battery Royal Garrison Artillery and was Killed in Action on the 20th August 1917.

Accompanied by a small selection of regimental badges. Distinguished Service Order London Gazette 1st January 1917 Mentioned in Despatches London Gazette 15th June 1916, 4th January 1917, 11th December 1917, 20th May 1918 Belgium Croix de Guerre London Gazette 12th July 1918. Lieutenant Colonel Vivian Archer Jackson DSO was first commissioned into the 3rd Bn Cheshire Regiment in September 1900, with promotion to Lieutenant in January 1902. In 1903 he transferred to the York & Lancaster Regiment serving with the 2nd Bn in 1911 at Blackdown Barracks Aldershot. At the outbreak of the Great War he was attached to the King Own Regiment, possibly to the 4th Territorial Battalion serving as Adjutant, it was with this Regiment he landed in France on the 2nd May 1915, his MIC notes that he also served with the 18th Bn York & Lancs. He was appointed to the Staff as a Brigade Major in late 1915 and by the end of the war held the rank of Acting Lieutenant Colonel. He resigned his commission on the 11th February 1920.

During, the operation of forcing the passage of the Canal at the lock, two miles south of Catillon, on 4th November, 1918, he did conspicuous work under shell fire, hurriedly getting the bridges man-handled by men of the assaulting troops on the spot, thus greatly assisting in getting the passage over the Canal effected. He has previously rendered valuable service. (M.C. gazetted 1st January, 1917.) Mentioned in Despatches London Gazette 28th December 1918 Brigadier Thomas Edward Chad MC* was born in 1893 and at the outbreak of the Great War volunteered into the Coldstream Guards landing in France on the 24th February 1915. He was wounded on the 12th March 1915 near Nevel Chapel. Selected for a commission he was appointed a Second Lieutenant in the Royal Sussex Regiment and joined his regiment in France during October 1915. He was once again wounded in August 1916 , but remained with the Battalion. In the closing days of the war on the 4th November 1918, he was with his Commanding Officer at the Sambre-Oise Canal, Lt Col Johnson VC CB,DSO*MC when he won the Victoria Cross when under heavy fire he lead his men forward and secured a crossing. After the war Chad, remained with the Army being attached to various TA units as Adjutant these included Royal Sussex Regiment and the King Liverpool Regiment. At the outbreak of WW2 he held the rank of Major with promotion to Lt Col in January 1942. He was granted the rank of honorary Brigadier on the 24th July 1944 on his retirement.

The full-figured bronze-color resin Chewbacca is posed to hold his signature bowcaster. Both busts were sculpted by ILM model maker Richard Miller and bear "R. Miller" on their backs. The Nebulon-B escort frigate served as Rebel headquarters during the Galactic Civil War. Cannibalistic murderer Leatherface wore his mask made of human "skin" as he and other members of his family terrorized a young couple driving cross-country. This mask consists of a series of custom-made foam latex pieces that have been finished in a variety of flesh colors and textures to mimic pieces of human skin. The pieces have been stitched together with black string to create a facial appliance featuring a pair of eye holes as well as a mouth opening. Attached to the appliance are a pair of leather straps which allowed it to be worn. It exhibits signs of wear from use and age, most notably drying and cracking of the foam latex, and is in fair condition overall. A hand-drawn Hammerhead predecessor character illustration by Ron Cobb which was entitled Famous Alien Astronomer and done in the late nineteen-fifties. Cobb later revisited the design when he was hired by George Lucas to do concepts for Cantina aliens in Star Wars: A New Hope. The astronomer is depicted with a two-sided, shark-style head that later became known to film fans everywhere as Hammerhead. Cobb's Hammerhead illustration was brought to life as a physical puppet by effects creator Jon Berg for the Cantina sequence, but the characters origins lie in this sketch. This concept illustration of the pre-Hammerhead character is rendered in colored pencil, graphite, and ballpoint pen on illustration paper signed "R. Cobb" in the artist's unique graphic style. The work is published in Cobb's book Colorvision, known as one of the great titles on film concept art. The illustration is in good overall condition with some smudging and minor edge wear from handling and storage.
