LSWR Pen enclosed in a tubular, wooden sheath. A remarkable item, probably issued as a souvenir item around the late 19th century or early 20th century. Comprises a wooden shafted dipping pen measuring 6" in length and bearing large initials 'L. & S.W.R. ' the nib marked 'George Hughes, Violin Pen Ltd.' This fits into a wooden sheath, the lid of which is marked in even larger initials of 'L. & S. W. R. and the body of which bears the image of a 4-4-0 open cab loco pulling a 5, non-corridor rake of coaches.

Rhondda and Swansea Bay Railway pocket watch. A very early English lever watch, top wound and lever set, the quality English movement is numbered 176767 and the enamel dial bears the suppliers name of Kays Limited. The nickel case is engraved to the back R&SBRY No 18 , in seemingly good working and clean condition, the only watch known to survive from this small Welsh company.

GWR Official Register of Carriage Diagrams in 3 bound volumes, ex Swindon Drawing Office. An incredible set of historic reference books with the three volumes being A - F (with index), G - Q and R - W. Each diagram is numbered and has all the data one could wish for including Lot Numbers and Build Dates. The index includes Carriage and Carriage Truck Numbers, Horse Box Numbers and Service Numbers. The diagrams are plan and elevation with bird’s eye views, even the plush furniture of the Royal Coaches can be seen. Literally hundreds of coaches, perhaps a complete history of GWR Coaches in the three volumes. A cursory look shows carriages dating from the 1880's through to the 1930's. A must for the historian, author or simply enthusiast.
