A large archive of over 150 photographs relating to General W R Robertson GCB, GCMG, KCVD, DSO during and after WW1 including Review at Cologne 1919, 12th Lancers, Marshal Foch visit, King George V, Royal Marines Academy Woolwich 16th January 1916, official photographs showing advance in the west, Ypres and the visit of the King, also included are two letters from General Robertson to his son Brian, one dated 11th June 1900 from Pretoria, and a letter from Brian dated 20th May 1907. Sir William Robert Robertson enlisted in 1879 and became 2nd Lt, 3rd Dragoon Guards in 1888, Lieut 1891, Captain 1895, Major and Brevet Lieut-Col 1900, Colonel 1903, Major General 1910, Lieut General 1915, General 1916 and Field Marshal 1920. Together with three Pearsall silver plated plaques, 17.5cm high, named to W A Taylor of 6th Bn Royal Warwickshire Regiment. All to 9663 WO Class 2 William Alford Taylor DCM Royal Warwickshire Regiment. Born in Stockton, Warwickshire c1889. Landed France 22nd August 1914 with 1st Bn who was engaged in the Retreat from Mons in August 1914. Entitled to 1914 Star Trio with clasp and roses. Wounded on August 6th 1916 and drafted to the 16th Bn on Recovery. Later living in Moseley, Birmingham. Note: DCM Gazetted 15th November 1918. Taylor saw service in India and was entitled to an Indian General Service Medal 1908 and a Delhi Durbar 1911 medal.

BERKS."Private James William Flogdell (15th October 1886 - 29th October 1971). Served with the 8th, 1st and 2nd/4th Battalions of the Royal Berkshire Regiment and fought in France He landed at Le Havre on 8th Aug 1915. Fought at Loos, The Somme, Ypres and the Hindenburg Line. His medal card lists him as killed in action but this is a mistake.

ROWLAND CONN. RANG." and a Special Constabulary Medal to "LEONARD G. ROWLAND"Private Herbert William Rowland (b.1892) was born in Derby and enlisted in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire. He sadly passed away due to wounds on the 11th of September 1918 in Mesopotamia. He served with the 1st Battalion Connaught Rangers and formerly with the R.A.S.C. His brothers were George Rowland (1897 - 1973) and Arthur Thomas Rowland (1887 - 1943).
