An assorted group of English ceramics, comprising an early 19th century twin-handled sucrier and cover, decorated with green leaves and red spots with gilt scrolls, unmarked (beyond an incised 'X' to the base), 12cm high; a Davenport cream jug, on raised hexagonal foot, decorated with matt green and gilt and a nicely painted fancy bird with pink roses to the interior of the spout, printed factory mark, 13.5cm high; a Spode Felspar oval canted dessert dish with relief-moulded shell and scroll border, pattern 4557, 28cm wide; a Flight, Barr and Barr shell-handled dessert plate, decorated with a central spray of polychrome flowers and seaweed or 'vermicelli' gilt, impressed mark, 23cm wide; an early 20th century scale blue transfer-printed 'Fancy Birds' plate, printed 'Osler Designs, Calcutta' to the reverse (F. & C. Osler), 17.5cm diameter; a pair of Davenport green-bordered pierced cabinet plates, painted with landscapes, printed factory marks in puce, 23.2cm diameter; a Minton 'Brocade' pattern plate; an F&R Pratt Fenton plate, pattern 123 and a further Victorian green-bordered twin-handled dessert plate painted with flowers, 26cm wideCream jug is cracked. An early 20thC mahogany cased Napoleon hat mantel clock, silvered dial bearing Arabic numerals, German eight day movement with coil strike, the case with white metal presentation plaque to R B Lloyd by the employees of Briscoe and Company Ltd 1923, raised on brass bun feet, with pendulum, no key, 27cm high, 53cm wide.

He studied at Kings College Newcastle-Upon-Tyne between 1951 and 1956 alongside Noel Forster, where he was taught by Lawrence Gowing, Victor Pasmore, and Richard Hamilton. He featured in the ground breaking Redfern Gallery exhibition Metavisual Tachiste and Abstract Painting in 1957 and held his first exhibition with Noel Forster in London at the New Vision Centre in 1958. His work was included in Antonioni's iconic film Blow-Up in 1966, and a retrospective of his work Ian Stephenson: Paintings 1955-66 and 1966-77 was held at Hayward Gallery London in 1977 (touring to the Arnofini Gallery, Bristol, and Turnpike Gallery, Leigh-on-Sea). Stephenson returned to Newcastle to take up a post as Director of Foundation Studies in Fine Art at Newcastle 1966 until 1970 alongside Hamilton and Pasmore. His work was described as 'the most beautiful being made in this country' in the introduction by Joanna Drew for the catalogue for the 1977 Hayward Gallery retrospective.

BDE, Queens South Africa Medal, three clasps Defence of Ladysmith, Laings Nek, Belfast, 4121 PTE RIFLE BRIGADE, Khedive Medal, clasp Khartoum (unnamed as issued). Medals loose. Private Richard Baily from Yarmouth enlist on the 4th November 1895, he was posted to the Sudan in July 1898 and his records show he was present at the occupation of Crete. He arrived in South Africa on the 2nd October 1899, he returned to the UK in October 1901 and was discharged as unfit on the 20th April 1902

LEADER. 68722 PC William Savage enlisted into the Met Police 29th October 1883 and retired in 1903. His medal entitlement is complete. PC Walter Leader enlisted in February 1911 and retired in 1935. He served with R ((Greenwich) and X (Kilburn)Divisions.
7th Bn Hampshire Regiment 1944 Casulty General Service Medal, clasp Palestine. Awarded to 5495009 PTE F.C. WAKEHAM HAMPS R. Medal with edge knocks. Private Frederick Charles William Wakeham was born in Guernsey and enlisted into the Hampshire Regiment serving with the 1st Bn in Palestine. He was Killed in Action on the 30th July 1944 in North West Europe whilst serving with the 7th Bn Hampshire Regiment.
Motor Machine Gun Service / Royal Tank Corps French Medaille d’ Honneur Medal Group. Awarded to Warrant Officer II M.D. Spicer. Comprising: British War Medal, Victory Medal 1687 Cpl. M.D. SPICER. M.M.G.S.-R.A, George V Jubilee Medal, George V Regular Army Long Service Good Conduct Medal (1930-36). (these two medals Named 7868393 W.O. Cl II R. Tank C.), French Medaille d’Honneur. The group is mounted for display, please note that WO. Spicer is entitled to the silver French Medaille d’Honneur and not gilt as mounted with the group Warrant Officer M.D Spicer enlisted into the Royal Garrison Artillery before being attached to the Motor Machine Gun Service and transfer to the Tank Corps with the service number 200045, this confirmed on the medal index card. He landed in France after the 1st January 1916 and is confirmed as being awarded the French Medaille d’Honneur silver London Gazette 11th July 1919. Remaining with the Tank Corps he saw service during the interwar years with the LSGC Medal being awarded in 1934 and a year later whilst serving with the 9th Light Tank Company in India was awarded the GVR Jubilee Medal.

VINER OX & BUCKS LI. 1914/15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal (PTE OX 7 BUCKS L.I), Memorial Plaque ALFRED LAWRENCE NORMAN VINER. Momrial Scroll, this named to the Manchester Regiment.Group awarded to 2602 PTE A.V. VINER R WAR R.1914/15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal, Bronze Memorial Plaque ALBERT VICTOR VINER. Memorial Scroll named to the Royal Warwickshire Regiment. Both groups remain contemporary mounted into an ebonized glazed frame. The frame with some age wear. Private A.L.N. Viner landed in France with the Ox & Bucks on the 2nd October 1915, he was later attached to the 1/10th Bn Manchester Regiment and was Killed in Action on the 29th March 1918. Private A.V. Viner landed in France on the 22nd March 1915 and was Killed in Action with the 1/7th Bn Royal Warwickshire Regiment on the 23rd March 1916. The next of Kin for both men is confirmed as Alfred and Ellen Elizabeth Viner, of Ragland Cottage, Allesley, Coventry
