A superb quality scratch built 3.5" gauge live steam model LMS Class 5 4-6-0 locomotive and tender (with coal) painted in maroon and black with gilt '5390' to cab and 'LMS' to tender on each side built by John R. Higham, length approx 122.5cm, presented on section of track in glazed display case with boiler examination certificate issued by Wirral Model Engineering Society 24/10/18 stating copper construction, 2.2 litre volume, 12.2 bar litres, Test Pressure of 120psi applied for Working Pressure of 80psi and Limit Pressure of 88psi (sold with this certificate and two further dated 1991 and 1974, see condition report for details); also included is 'The Engineer Highlights of 120 Years' with numerous fold-out plans of historic locomotives and other machines.John Higham served as a director at General Motors before leaving to become Production Manager at Meccano Ltd. in Liverpool. CONDITION REPORT: Full scans of certificates are available upon request, boiler manufacturer identified on 2018 certificate as John Higham and date of manufacture as 1974, serial/boiler (system) no. Bent, a cased Women's Voluntary Service Medal (unnamed), a Festival of Britain 1951 crown and a group of cigarette cards.
A group of medals comprising WWI War and Victory Medal duo awarded to 14500 Pte T. Wardle Ches. R., a single Victory Medal awarded to 51268 Pte G.F. Shaw Manch. R. (lacking suspension loop), WWII War Medal, 1939-1945, Italy and Africa Stars, also a Simplex extinguisher. CONDITION REPORT: Medals generally in worn condition with surface scratches and some edge knocks, the WWI War Medal with several minor edge knocks and matching Victory Medal with heavy rubbing to the gilt finish, the single Victory Medal with numerous edge knocks, areas of rubbing, some spots of corrosion and lacking the suspension loop, WWII medals display similar general wear.
An Anglo Sure Shot Mk 1 air rifle with walnut stock, further stamped 'Cox's Patent' and 'Made Only for R. Ramsbottom Manchester', no. 1216 with registration no. 394207, length 91cm. CONDITION REPORT: Used condition, some scuffs, scrapes and losses through the stock, with similar to the metalwork. We would be unable to post this lot and would recommend organising a courier. We are able to provide packaging at a cost of £5 + VAT per lot.
