Kleine Beschädigungen / Verluste der Farbschicht auf der Hutkrempe. Craquelé. Bereibungen der Farbschicht an den Rändern umlaufend (vom Rahmen verdeckt). Unter UV-Licht reflektiert der Firnis milchig, darunter liegende Retuschen sind somit nicht nachweisbar. Im rechten unteren Viertel der Darstellung sind unter UV-Licht zahlreiche Retuschen zu erkennen (exklusive Signatur).

Franz Xaver Hoch 1869 Freiburg i. Br. - 1916 Châtas "Morgen am Simplonpass" R. u. signiert und 1913 datiert. Rücks. auf dem Keilrahmen Etikett mit Titel und Künstlerbezeichnung. Öl auf Lwd. 92 x 120 cm. Rahmen (99 x 126,5 cm). Zustand: Firnis im Himmel etwas vergilbt. Unter UV-Licht sind keine Retuschen erkennbar, Firnis wohl erneuert. Im Münchener Kunstgeschehen zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts bildeten sich immer wieder neue Künstlervereinigungen. Neben bekannten Gruppen wie der Münchener Secession haben sich auch kleinere Zusammenschlüsse wie beispielsweise die "Luitpold-Gruppe" gefunden. Von dieser wiederum hat sich 1907 unter Führung des Künstlers Carl von Marr die Künstlergruppe "Die Bayern" abgespalten und bis 1929 im Glaspalast in München ausgestellt. Franz Xaver Hoch war 1910-15 Mitglied dieser Gruppe. Provenienz: Privatsammlung Österreich.
