Economics.- Malthus (T. R.) Definitions in Political Economy, first edition, lacks half-title, contemporary calf, spine gilt but a little rubbed, [Goldsmiths' 25180; Kress C1924], 8vo, 1827. ⁂ This, one of Malthus' last works "was a valiant attempt to resolve differences of opinion in political economy by codifying its terminology and establishing rules for the definition of terms. It could be regarded as one of the earliest works on the methodology of economics" (ODNB).

A MEDIEVAL GOLD FINGER RING, the R-shaped bezel encasing a sliver of garnet, the shoulders decorated with engraved leaves on a hatched ground, c.15th century or earlier. Internal diameter at the widest point, 17mm, external diameter at the widest point, 19.5mm, c.1.9g. Provenance: Detector find, Dorset. The previous lot, a Medieval gold ring, was from the same find spot, found inside the previous lot.
