A part built 7 1/4 inch gauge 0-4-0 narrow gauge tank locomotive `Anna`, built to the Manning Wardle designs (as featured in The Model Engineer series by D.A.G. Brown and Mark Smithers, 2004-08), the model 90 % completed by Mr R. Thomson of Bristol and with a new steel boiler from Bell Boilers of Stonehouse, Gloucester, serial no. BB325, built to BS 2790 design principles and BS EN 287/288 welding standards. Declaration of Conformity dated 5th August 2009. Pressure Test Certificate No.314. Test pressure 180 psi, signed and dated August 2009; also a Welder Approval Test Certificate; together with an adjustable build table and construction documentation.
A pair of bronzed cast metal book ends, with raised portraits of Charles Lindbergh (1902-74), flanked by an aeroplane and an American eagle, titled to the base edges `The Aviator`, the planished backs marked `Cop[y]r[ight] 1928`, 15.5cm high. Note: These were almost certainly produced to commemorate Lindbergh`s non-stop solo flight from Long Island, New York to Paris in the single-engine monoplane `Spirit of St. Louis`, between 20th and 21st May 1927.
A late 19th Century French Lacquered Brass Carriage Timepiece, R & Co, Paris, the cylinder platform escapement to an Arabic enamel dial, with outside minute track, to a gilt mask with overlaid engraved and pierced panel depicting mythological creatures amongst scrolling foliage, in a lacquered brass case with carry handle and outset column corners, to detailed frieze panels, height 6 ¼”
