Jackson & Son, Liverpool to verso Condition Report: Three old patched repairs to verso. Expected craquelure. The upper portions of the sky could benefit from a light clean. Three holes to the top, possibly from tacking or being pinned to a wall. 2cm long crescent-shaped scratch/loss to upper-right.

A William IV mahogany longcase clock, the 32cm arched painted dial inscribed R. Tennison/Chesterfield, Roman numerals, the arch painted with castle ruins the spandrels with hanging game, subsidiary date and seconds dials, twin winding holes, eight day movement striking on a bell, the hood with swan neck pediment, and lotus capped pillars, arched rectangular door to waist, bracket feet, 228cm high, c.1835Reuben Tennison was born in Hornsea, (Yorks ER) 1799 was apprenticed 1813-1820, married Mary Thompson at Chesterfield in 1831 and had two sons and a daughter. He worked from New Square and later from Market Place in Chesterfield recorded 1827 to 1849 when he appears to have died. An oak cased clock by him was sold locally in 1991.
A RENE LALIQUE OPALESCENT POISSONS BOWL, diameter approximately 21cm, moulded R. Lalique makers name, inscribed France and pattern No.3212condition:Height of bowl approximately 7.5cm, no sign of damage or repair to the rim, very little wear to the inside or the underside, some faults moulded into the glass, including air bubbles, trailed lines and small raised areas of glass.
A GEORGE II SILVER-MOUNTED OAK SNUFF BOX rectangular with reeded borders and moulded sides, the cover inlaid with the cut-out initials "C" and "R" below a Royal crown, the cover interior with tortoiseshell lining, unmarked c.1735; 2.8" (7.2 cms) long *This box was probably made to commemorate the episode where King Charles II escaped capture following the Battle of Worcester in 1651, when he hid in an oak tree, now referred to as the Boscabel Oak.
